Andrew, I don't know who hosts your web site but please be aware that there is oftem a restriction on 'BAND WIDTH' that may well affect how much uploading and downloading that your site is allowed. I have now paid extra to my hosts (Netcetera) for unlimited bandwidth so I am no longer faced with any restrictions. Please let me have the URL to your web site so that I can take a look at whatever you decide to upload. Ronnie West

Andrew, It is more usual to upload slide shows in the 'Flash' format. Read my tutorial on 'Converting an MP4 file to a SWF file for display on a web site' In case you haven't already got a copy of this, please email me and I will send it to you. Ron.

Hi Linda, I have emailed you this morning with regard to this problem. Ron

If you are using 1280x800, then surely your images are not filling the screen and you are getting black borders. Why don't you use the format suggested by Xaver and fill your screen - it will look even better! (1920x1080) Ron

No registration key received with Purchase
Ronniebootwest replied to gnome's topic in General Discussion
I thought that this problem regards the Registration Code, had been sorted out and that the required key was to be sent with the order acknowlegement emsil. Why should it take 48 hours to send it? This has been a problem for a very long time now and I can forsee that people will stop placing orders for this product if the problem continues. Igor, this really must be addressed! Ron -
Hi Jan, If you have placed all of your images in a separate folder, you will be able to use Adobe Bridge to make a pdf contact sheet. If you haven't seen my tutorial on this topic, email me and I will send it to you. Ron

Hi Andrew, When your show started, I thought that it was going to be another 'Book Animation' but no, this was something different. An interesting idea but I thought that the film slide took up to much of the screen. I would have preferred to see the whole of each image filling the screen. However, the slide show ran perfectly and the transitions were very smoothe. The music was perfectly in keeping with the subject matter. Well done! As an afterthought, to avoid the black bars at the top and bottom of my screen, why don't you make your shows at 1920 x 1200 (or perhaps you always will want to make a DVD) Great work mate, Ron West

Barry, I don't have the same problem as you. Music plays OK without any trace of 'Looping' at the end. Andrew, Consider making the following changes to your Advanced Project Options: -

Andrew, How many times have we heard this old cry eh! Get your club competition Secretary to drag all members 'Kicking and Screaming' into the 21st century. They really must be old! Ron -

Nice one Andrew! Barry, Not so easy to fade out music when the show is controlled by the viewer, how can you determine where the show will end? Ron -
Igor, I cannot find this, where is the 'View' option located please? Ron

The Usk Show - Animation without the Frame
Ronniebootwest replied to Ronniebootwest's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Mary, It is a pity that you are having problems with Mediafire - nobody else has ever reported a problem with the downloads! However, I have uploaded the slide show to my web site and you can download it from there. I have sent you a PM with the link. Ronnie -
Igor, Nice to see that the 'Reg Key' problem has now been addressed. However I have a couple of questions: 1. When installing a new version of PTE we are no longer being asked for the previous version where the 'settings' are to be copied from. Is this now automatic? 2. When creating the 'exe' file, there used to be a 'click' sound when the exe had been made, this no longer happens and I find myself wondering if the file has been correctly saved. Can it be re- instated? Ronnie West

One of the comments on my last slide show (Animated Frame Slide Show) was that the frame was intrusive. Maybe this new slide show, without the frame, will be more to your liking. I realise that people will always have a personal opinion but I welcome comments from all of you. Download Here

An Animated Frame Slide Show
Ronniebootwest replied to Ronniebootwest's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Hi Mick, I note your comment about the frame so I will prepare another slide show without the frame to see if that will make a difference. I am not sure that using a small white border will work though, but it's something to think about. Watch this space! Edit on 26th August 2010 Please see my new slide show 'The Usk Show - Without Frame' posted today. -
An Animated Frame Slide Show
Ronniebootwest replied to Ronniebootwest's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Thanks Davy, It's OK, I understand. You are not alone. As they say in Yorkshire "There's nowt so queer as folk" Take this thread for example, almost 150 views and yet only about 7 people have found the time to comment! -
An Animated Frame Slide Show

George, The template is available from Barry Beckham at a reasonable cost - Download Here Mickp, Thanks for your comments Mick, I will pass them on to Barry. I do agree about that 'blank space' when the images change though. -
That is better! I needed to change the Project Option in order to see the show at full screen on my monitor:

This slide show was made using one of Barry's excellent templates. I like the presentation effect but, what do you think? Download Here

Dave, You are right, my eyesight is getting bad - it is 3328 and not 3528. Thanks for the graphic, it helps. I also recognise the location as the River Monow in Monmouth. Ken, I will read up on the stuff you sent to me, later.

There has been an awful lot of stuff written about image size, resolution and format but I am sure that, like me, there are many who find this subject confusing. You will know what I mean if you have 'Cropped' an image down to a pre-determined size to match a specific format because you will have noticed that you very often lose quite a lot of the original image. I have found this particularly relevant when re-sizing an image to fit some of the many templates that are now available. For example, I had to make a slide show recently for a wedding couple who wanted a 'wedding album' of thier photo's on a DVD, but when I cropped the images to fit the template, I lost far to much of the image (I need to step back a bit at vthe taking stage next time and avoid the close ups) My camera produces RAW images at 4992*3528 - can someone tell me what image format this is please? Is it 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 or whatever and what screen resolution will it best fit. 1920*1200, 1920*1080 or any of the many others that only servr to confuse me. Ronnie
-
David, please email me with your own email address and I will send you a pdf tutorial on this subject. Ronnie

These templates are good basic stuff but I think that the image size needs to be larger to make them more useful. It would also be a good idea to create the templates in the 1920*1200 format so that the final image will fill the screen on monitors of this format. Ron

David, It is the normal practice to upload 'Flash' files to a web site or, as Peter says, convert to MP4 and uplad that. Go to my web site to see some examples of PTE slide shows that I have uploaded here: HERE:

Mary, An interesting observation. I never thought about it like that but I guess that you are right. If I do another book of this type, then I will follow your suggestion I think - it makes sense! Ronnie
