Buying Pictures 2 Exe on a Disc?
Ronniebootwest replied to John Fairclough's topic in General Discussion
I think that Barry Beckham still has these discs for sale. Have a look on his web site Here -
Didn't he do well! The only thing that I noticed was that the panning of the panarama was a little to fast. Otherwise the images were very good and conveyed the happy atmosphere to a tee. Very well done Mark. Ron

Hi Mike, This sounds like the usual problem of 'False Positives' that AVG is fond of reporting. One of the reasons that I have switched to using the free version provided by 'Avast' thier latest version is much improved. You seem to have quadrupled your post, perhaps you could delete the other three! Ron

Hi Dave, I have just been re-reading through this thread and notice that you use an 'Action' to change from 16 bit/RGB to sRGB. If you are still using this action, is it possible to email me a copy please. Ron

Envelope Tool for Audio in Version 6.5 Beta 10
Ronniebootwest replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
I have had a quick look at this new feature and I am impressed. It looks very exciting and, when I get more time, I will test it in greater depth and report back my findings. It certainly looks like a very useful addition to the program. It may well be that I can write a pdf tutorial on how to use it. Ron West -
What you do will depend on whether you want to create standard or HD slide show. If you have a Blu-Ray player, then I recommend that you try the AVCHD route because the quality of the slide show will be far superior to an odinary CD/DVD. I have written a tutorial on this subject - email me with you own email address and I will send you a copy. Email me Kind Regards, Ronnie West

Hi Mary, Why would you want to use a WAV file? An mp3 is better because it is a reduced file size which will also reduce the overall size of your slide show. Welcome to our forum and please come back at any time, you will always be very welcome. Ron

Hi Garry, Now that you have confirmed that you do not get this error message, I suspected that it must have something to do with my own setup. I uninstalled PTE Beta 8 and Beta 9 then re-installed beta 9. Bingo! the problem went away and now everything works as I expected. Ron

Thanks Igor, we cannot ask for better service than that! Ron

I want to create an HD mp4 file with a width and Height to match what I need for my web site media items. However, when I select the 'Create HD Video' option and then choose 'Custom' I am only able to change the first digit and then the program returns to the previous screen and I have to then enter the second digit. This process has to be repeated until all digits have been entered. Surely this is wrong and I ought to be able to change these setting all in one go! Has anyone got the an answer to this or IS IT A BUG? Ron West.

Sometimes it is the most unlikely and illogical things that cause a compter to 'play up' so why not run a full virus check and then do a complete defrag on the drive that is suspect. This may not cure the problem but it can do no harm. Ron

Why do you think that this conversion is necessary please? Ron

So sorry to hear that you had problems with getting your 'Reg Key' but glad to hear that the problem has now been resolved. Please don't think that the makers of PTE are bad on customer service though, true they have had a few problems with registration keys but, very soon now, they will be changing the way that these keys are issued and this should remedy any fututre problems. Another excellent thing in thier favour, is this FORUM - it is very active and most problems can be solved here by simply posting the details. You will find a wealth of knowledge on this forum and some very helpful members who are always willing to assist you. Welcome to our software forum! Regards, Ron West

I agree with Barry! Why make all that work for yourselves when a simple tick in the right box will do it. Ron

I agree with you, that is why I asked Steph to send me an email. Steph, I have sent you a copy of the tutorial to the email address that you posted. Ron

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION FOR DVD BURNING PURPOSES
Ronniebootwest replied to orizaba's topic in General Discussion
Hi there Jose, I am pleased to see that you have posted your method of creating a slide show for burning to DVD and also for showing on a TV. This topic certainly need further discussion. I note that you seem to be creating shows in the 4:3 format - this is fine, but most people these days have access to an HD wide screen television and as such, need thier shows to be in 16:9 format. I have a tutorial that I have written, showing my method of working. This tutorial is available to all forum members who send me thier email address. Regards, Ron West -
Hello Steph, There has been much discussion on this topic and you can read all about it by searching the forum. However, you will probably not be much the wiser because there are so many different points of view. I wrote a tutorial a while back, called 'You first PTE Slide Show' It might help you to understand a little better if you read that. Please send me your email address and I will send you a copy. I have created an MP4 file using the PTE HD option and now want to burn this to disc as an AVCHD file. Up until now, I have used Nero 9 to achieve this but I now want to see if the quality that I am getting, can be bettered. I am experimenting with software called 'MutiAVCHD' that created a 'BDMV' folder with the relevant files. I have downloaded the 'imgBurn' software and am now completely baffled because I cannot understand how to use it properly. Does anyone have a step by step kind of tutorial that I can use please? (for imgBurn) When I have finished my testing and learned how to accomplish this task, I will write one of my own pdf tutorials and make it available to all forum members. Thanks, Ron

Thanks Don, for the detailed list of your workflow. I will have a go later on and see if I can save to a USB Pen drive instead of of an SD card. I currently produce HD files of my slide shows for display on my web site and also on my Sony TV. I have been very pleased with the excellent quality that I have achieved at 1920 x 1080 - I just wanted to discover if this quality could be better if I use the MultiAVCHD program that you are using. However, so far I have found the program very difficult to use. You may be interested in a pdf tutorial, that I have written, giving full details of how I go about things. If you would like a copy, please send me you email address. Ron

I was interested in the 'MultiAVCHD' program that was mentioned by Don so I downloaded it to have a peek. I tried trancoding one of my MP4 files (created with PTE) and managed to achieve this but I finished up with a whole load of different files in the output folder. I must confess that I found the whole process rather lengthy and confusing (as compared to my usual way of doing things with Nero 9) However, I will not be beaten and so would still like to finish the process and burn the transcoded file to a DVD, but I just cannot work out how this can be done from the many files that I have finished up with. Don, I wonder if you could point me to a step by step tutorial that would help me to understand this program more easily and maybe you would be kind enough to let me have a few notes on just how you go about things. You will be able to do this in an image editor, e.g. Photoshop Ron

This new beta version looks to be very exciting but please remember that it is a 'BETA VERSION' and is intended for members of the forum to test all new features and report any problems back to Igor and his team. If you have any fears about using it, please stay with using the older version until all testing is finished and Igor issues the final version. Testing and searching out any bugs can sometimes take quite a while so please be patient and don't expect everything to work straight away. Ron West

Peter, I have not really given much thought to which colour space to use, I tend to stick with RGB because I am lazy. You have now promted me to think about the other options. What are the advantages of using sRGB against RGB - or even CYMK? Ron
