Hi Dom, My mistake, I was thinking about something else when I mentioned Photoshop. I have now worked thru my original pdf notes and they are still correct. It seems that Sylvia has managed to solve his problems now, so all is well again. Ron

Hello Igor, Well done, this sounds like it will be an excellent addition to PTE. When can we see the beta version so that it can be tested? Ron West

Ken Cox has now sent to me the pdf tutorial (thanks Ken) I will work thru it again and see if it can be re-written for PTE Version 5.6 and Photoshop CS3/4. Dom. If you can offer any help, I would appreciate it. Ron

I seem to recall that there was a problem with re-installing this set of templates (something to do with the location of the .ini file I think). I will have a look again at my tutorial and see if I can help. Please give me a couple of days to find some time. Ron EDIT: I seem to have lost my original tutorial, can someone email me a copy please? (email link is below)

Just what posts are you referring to? Ron

Hi Nobeefstu, Good point! I think that my problem might be something to do with the fact that I recently downloaded a trial version of a conversion program and then used this to convert an mpeg 4 file to the offending AVI. I have now deleted the trial converter program. Ron
-
Brian, I understand what you are saying but unfortuneatly I cannot work out how to track down what I must have done to cause my problem. I have now managed to delete the offending AVI, so will now switch on the DEP again and see what happens. Ron
-
Igor, At the moment, I have disabled the DEP option and have successfully deleted the offending AVI file. Brian: Thanks for your comments. I will create a new AVI and try again (after I reactivate the DEP options. Ron.

I have recently been getting an annoying problem with AVI files created with PTE. Whenever I click on the saved AVI, the Data Execution Protection kicks in and closes down the file. The file also closes when I Right Click on it. This means that I am unable to delete the file. The only answer I have found, is to disable DEP in the Control Panel and I reckon that might cause even more problems for me! Does anyone know how to resolve this problem correctly? (Brian Conflow, are you reading this?) Regards, Ron

Hi Boxig, Long time since I have seen you on the forum! I am watching this thread on 'Adding video to a PTE slide show' What is the link for downloading the latest version please? Ron West

Why not just use the crop tool in Photoshop, to resize you images to the same size as your monitor. You will lose some of the original image but at least you get to choose what to lose. Ron

When Starting to create a presentation...
Ronniebootwest replied to trailertrash's topic in General Discussion
John, that is excellent advice and should be heeded by everyone (not just beginners). Ron -
Hi Peter, Thanks for that info, I will follow it up later on this evening. Ron

This thread is interesting me! I would like very much to know who/how many times a PTE show is being downloaded from my web site. This 'PHP' thingy sounds like it is worth investigating but I know nothing about it. Can someone explain just what it is all about pleaser? Ron

Animation of the panning of 2 slides....
Ronniebootwest replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
Goddi, Lin has explained to you what is needed and I could not have explained it better! Follow his suggestiones and you will have a perfectly 'panned' slide. Ron -
Hi, If you intend to publish as HD on Vimeo, you should resize all images to 1280 x 720 pixels bfore making the PTE slide show. Ron
-
Brilliant! That worked just fine. Thank you for the very quick reply. Ron

I want to copy a TT Font from the Windows Font Folder and paste it to another folder but the usual method of 'copy and paste' does not seem to work. Can someone explain what I need to do please? I use XP Pro. Thanks, Ron

Hello Igor, When I read thru the responses to your request, I thought that they were very positive so why do you think that HD is someting for the future? Most people are now beginning to realise that they ought to upgrade their equipment, although a good number already have done so. I would be unhappy to see you put HD on the back burner - it is the future, so please continue your work in this area. What you have achieved so far, is excellent work. Ron

Many thanks for that link - it will be very useful.

Hello Igor, You Utube slide show is perfect in every way! It is as smoothe as silk on my computer, without any sign of jerks and the visual quality is astonishing. Bloody good photography as well! Ron West

Hi Dom, You 'Black Frame' demo is brilliant! I do like the way that you have presented you photo's in the white 'Cut out board' How did you create that perfect angled cut out look? Ron West
