Cutting the length of music is not all that you will need to do, you will also need to smooth out the 'cut' by introducing a gentle 'fade out' or 'fade in'. You might also need to add a period of silence at beginning/end of the track so that it matches the length of your slide show. Audacity will do this OK, but if you want a more sophisticated music editor, then consider Adobe Audition. Ron

I will not blame any of you who think that I must be an idiot because I guess that I must be. Recently I asked anyone who had asked to be included on my 'Group List' for receiving my free tutorials, to send me their email details - and most of you did. However, for the second time now, I have had problems with my email provider and because of this I needed to restore details from a backup. Now, would you believe, the backup file has been corrupted so I have lost the details yet again. In hindsight I should have copied these details to a CD and not just to a second hard drive. Anyway, the bottom line is that I need you you re-send your details if you still want to be included for any future tutorials. I am so sorry for this inconvenience and I will certainly create a CD of all details in future. Please email me the following details: Full Name: Email address: Click here to email me It is important that you send these details by email only and not simply a reply to this thread on the forum, otherwise I might not be able to save your address. Thanks. Ron

Hello Paul, I am interested in this issue and would appreciate it if you could send me copies of you exe show and also the project file. These files are going to be to big for email so I suggest that you use Mediafire or Yousendit to get it to me. Ron

Lin, I cast some doubt on your conclusion here! I also have this problem and, on my computer, the menu runs perfectly with 'Harware Acceleration' enabled. It is also enabled on 2 exe shows that are called from the menu. However, when I sent the whole exe file to others, it produced 'jerkiness' as described above. This is well documented in previous posts on this subject. Ron

Can you explain just what this 'Loop this Slide' feature does and where I can find it in the program please? Ron
-
Peter, Have you played with the 'Mosaic' transition in PTE? You might like that one. Ron
-
I have never experienced any problems with a firewall because I tend to switch it (XP) whenever I am burning CD or DVD. However I note that you are making a menu CD and there are other problems associated with this at the moment, e.g. the Hardware Acceleration' option in 'Project Options'. Also, I assume that you have created a folder into which you have copied your menu, .exe Slide Shows and your autorun. Ron West

How useful is installing a expiring date?
Ronniebootwest replied to Gerdi's topic in General Discussion
Larry, I am not sure that I agree with you on this one because it might well backfire and cause worried customers to tell their friends about the 'dodgy disc' and that could mean the loss of new (or exsiting) customers. Ron -

Hi John, Is this statement really what you meant? Surely it should be "to stop dis-honest people" Ron -
New prices and licenses for PicturesToExe
Ronniebootwest replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely agree with the above remarks and I, for one, will definitely be advertising to all my contacts, colleagues and friends that 'Pictures To Exe' is by far the best audio visual (and now DVD builder) software on the market. Thanks to Igor and the team! Ron West -
How useful is installing a expiring date?
Ronniebootwest replied to Gerdi's topic in General Discussion
This is such an old topic and it has been done to death! Lin is quite right, there is no real way of protecting images/shows but if you are really concerned about about people copting your stuff, then consider placing a copyright symbal on your images. I have a free tutorial availabler if you would like to see how it is done. Email me! Ron West -
Thanks for the informations Dom. I have aleady said that. working in the .ini files is best left to the experts. Don't try to change anything unless you know what you are doing. I think that what people will want to do is just modify the exiting options in Video Bulidet by, for example, adding more icons to run a show so that there is no need to keep going forward to the 'Next Page'. I will investigate further the options that Dom has suggested. Ron Update: Igor has informed me that the DVD menus are going to be improved in a future version of PTE Video Builder (not in beta's) so we will have to wait for a while I guess because they are very busy at WNsoft at the moment.

Good stuff! This will be used quite a lot by Photoshop users, but you are right Dom, it sure does take its time to run Ron

Help running PTE embedded actions via MS Vista?
Ronniebootwest replied to rick4pte's topic in General Discussion
I have not yet converted to the new 'Vista' and I am hearing about so many 'bugs' that I don't think that I will be using for some time yet. Maybe what you are experiencing, is just another of those annoying bugs. Why not send a private message to Igor and ask if he knows about this? Ron West -
Hello Ednys, Your attachment is working OK so you did it correctly. I have looked at the tutorial, but I don't think that it will import into 'Video Builder'. Ron

I have received a request from Henri Lion to be added to this tutorial list but the email address that has been provided is being rejected as unknown. Henri, if you see this thread, can you please confirm your correct email address for me. Ron

Hello Geoff, I agree with you on this one, the default templates in Video Builder are good but there is a need for being able to expand them. The Dom suggests using the .ini file route - this is probably not a good idea for anyone who is not totally computer literate though. If someone could provide me with the details of how such a menu can be created, I will be happy to try and produce a 'simplified' tutorial for everyones use. Ron

Hello Dom, Ken is quite right! I have limited bandwith on my website so have to be careful not to exceed it. Also, I do like to know the people who are interested in my tutorials and I like to get feedback from them (though this is not always forthcoming). As you know, feedback encourages people like myself to carry on making these tutorials. I am very pleased to be able to help members of this forum in this way. Ron

Hello Barbara, Welcome back, I have added your name to my new list. Please Note Other members interested in my tutorials please note that I requested that you send me an Email with your details. Please try to do this because I might not see your name on this thread.

I am not quite sure what you mean here Geoff, can you please be more specific. Ron West

I have been having problems with the 'Group Listing' that I set up in order to circulate my free pdf tutorials to those members who asked to be included on the list. You may not have received the last tutorial that I sent out. It was called 'Copyright - Photoshop Action'. I have now resolved the problem and will be re-building the list in the next few days and will send the tutorial out soon afterwards. Since I must rebuild this list, if you would like your name added to it - please send me the following details: 1. Your full name 2. Your email address. and I will be happy to include you for all future tutorials. My email address is: ronniebootwest@ntlworld.com Ronnie West.

Use the 'safe TV zone'option in both PTE and in Video Builder Ron

I am pleased that this has worked for you and that you like it. However, it is very unusual to have so many slides in just the one show (Audience boredom factor) it might have been better to create several parts and then link them together, this way you could burn each part separately and not tie up your computer for so long and you would also not be so 'at risk' of losing the whole thing in the event of computer problems. The main reason though, is that you would avoid your audience from becoming tired of watch the same old thing. Each to his/her own I guess! Ron West
-
Am I reading this correct, do you really have a slide show with over 1000 slides in in it? Ron
-
Excellent stuff mate! You obviously know what you are doing, I enjoyed this show very much and it ran smoothe on my computer. Well Done! Ron West
