  1. I agree with The Dom and also with JPD. Let's NOT make 'Perspective Zoom' the default, better if the user can choose to select it. Ron
  2. Hi Dom, The new Intro & Outro speed adjustment works just great. It is a pity that you cannot find a way to have the pages turn without the 'sudden jerk' - I thought that the new 'Smooth' option in PTE, was supposed to make that possible. Ron
  3. Go to my Web Site and look on the 'Downloads' page, you will find a free tutorial on making a frame in Photoshop that will do what you want. Ron Edit: Or you can send me a request by email and I will send you the pdf
  4. You are all missing the point that I am trying to make here! I want to add different comments to each slide - I do not want to use the defaults suggested by PTE - I want to type in my own comments on each slide and the comments will be different for each individual slide. I cannot6 see how that can be done in version 5. Please show me if it is possible and where it can be done. Ron
  5. I still am confused about this option. Like Ken Cox, I want to add separate comments to each individual slide and version 5 seems to only add a single comment to ALL slides. Am I missing something? For example, If I want to add "church built in 1856" on slide 1 and then add the comment "John & Mary on thier wedding day" on slide 2, how is this done in version 5? The old way seemed to be a lot easier so why has it been removed? Ron West
  6. Hi Ray, I am not sure that we are talking about the same problem here. Did you ever see the 'Organiser Menu' I am talking about. Originally made by Ken Nickles.?
  7. I know that for a project created in 4.48 to work in version 5, it must first be opened in 5 and then re-saved. This has worked fine for normal slide show projects. However, some time ago I made a tutorial for making a PTE Organiser Menu' that required extensive use of the old 'Project Options' facility, e.g. transparent buttons. When I open this project in version 5 all sorts of unexpected things start to happen and it seems that it is not going to work for me. I was hoping that I could convert the 'Organiser Menu' to version 5 but it seems that I must re-build the thing from scratch. I hope that I wrong and that one of you (cleverer than I) guys will come up with a suggestion or two. One other question, will version 4.48 remain in its current form when the final release of version 5 is made? Ron
  8. Barry, why don't you just refer the people, who are raising questions on PTE, to this forum? You won't then be acting as a 'third party' and get it wrong. Ron
  9. Where can we get a pair of these 'special viewing glasses' from?
  10. Igor, I agree with Stonemason, this option would be very useful.
  11. Lin, Are you able to provide a link to your 'original' show so I can compare the changes? Ron
  12. Send me your email and I can send you my tutorial for making a frame. my email: ronniebootwest@ntlworld.com
  13. Igor and your team, Thankyou for this new beta 10, we are almost there now and with only a few items left to include, this software is going to be the best available. Thank you very much for the hard work you have put in to this and also, a big thankyou for the free registration of Video Builder - a very welcome present! I will wait for the inclusion of the remaining 'Project Options' to be activated, before making some more pdf tutorials but in the meantime, I will spend some time learning all about the new features so far. 14. I am amazed at the simplicity of this solution, i.e. disabling and then enabling the sound card. Just goes to show that the KISS principle works! No need for these highly technical solutions at all! Ron
  15. I reckon that we have other problems that need Igor's attention at the moment. This re-naming of the word 'synchronize' can surely be left until later on when version 5 has settled down. Learn to use the software before asking for changes is my motto! Ron
  16. If this is a bug (and it sounds like it is) will it be cured in beta 10? Ron
  17. This is a scary story! How can we protectourselves from this kind of thing then? Ron
  18. Fred, I did not realise that I had made a mistake with my email link - Thanks for correcting that for me. I was going to send you an advance copy of Part Two of my latest tutorial but I don't seem to have your email address - can you send it to me please. Ron
  19. I don't really know why you consider this function to be so important because running a show directly after the preceding one, tends to make the whole thing rather long (and sometimes boring) Why not consider making your own menu and running all subsequent slide shows from that. You could even use my latest tutorial to create an 'Animated introductory show' to tell your viewers who you are. Ron
  20. This is the news we have all been waiting for! Can't wait for next week now. Thankyou Igor. Ron
  21. As quite a few members of this form know, I am sending out copies of my pdf tutorials to all those who are interested. My latest tutorial is an animated slide called 'Intro Sequence for PTE Slide Shows' Part one was sent out a few days ago. Part Two is giving me some problems and I need an experienced Photoshop/PTE user to volunteer to beta test it for me. You will need to be able to spend a little time on this test (about two to three hours I guess) so a member with time to spare would be appreciated. Please email me here
  22. Very best wishes to you on your birthday! Ron West
  23. gman, It is a little frustrating to have to wait for the next beta, but it will be worth it in the envd. As a work-a-round you might have to add the filename to the image in Photoshop (or similer editor) Lengthy process if you have lots of images though. Ron
  24. Now this is a sensible, calm and rational response Keith and you were very wise to wait until now to add your comments. I applaud you and your very wise remarks. Ron
  25. I have been reading through this post for a while now and my first reaction to the original question was, " Here we go again". There have been so many people asking when version 5 will be released! Peter, as a newcomer to this forum you will not yet know how useful and friendly the members (who contribute) are and I think that you will be impressed if you stay around. I have to say though, that I detect a very negative attitude in your remarks in connection with 'release dates'. If you compare Pictures To Exe with other similar software you will find that the developers (Igor and his team) have always kept the interests of users at the forefront of their thinking. (this is unique as far as I am concerned). As for the quality of PTE, well what can I say? just take a look at the other slide show software available and you will have your answer. On a score out of 10, PTE gets 10, the others can only claim up to 7! Why not spend the time available, before version 5 is released, in learning to master the many excellent freatures already available in beta 8(u), there is enough there to convince any sceptic that the software is worth waiting for.
