  1. oops! I didn't know that, sorry Dom. I will create the zip and email it right now. Ron update: My email would not let me send the file (to big 8mb) so I uploaded it to 'Yousendit'
  2. Hello Dom, Your instructions are very precise and were easy to follow. I changed the zoom ratio to 67% and the images now fit better inside the frame. However, I noticed that as each page transition moved to the next page, the image seemed to jump a little bit inside the frame (it seemed to get bigger) especially with pic05 (the castle). I only changed pic01 thru pic05 at the moment. Have a look and see if you can spot what I mean. I have emailed to you my project separately. Ron
  3. Hello Dom, Yes I did everything that you told me to except 'decrease the zoom to 67%. I do not understand what you mean and would be pleased if you would explain in more detail for me. Ron
  4. Hello Fred, Thanks for the tip but I already tried that and found that his were sized to 800 x 600 so I re-sized my images to the same. I still lost about half inch round the edge of my images when loaded into the template.
  5. Hi Dom, The latest template for the single page is giving me a small problem. Assuming that you will be adjusting the size of the frame so that it will fill most of the album page (leaving just a small white border around the edge, I need to know what the actual size of each photograph should be before I add it to your template. At the moment my images have been cropped to 1024x768 pixels and when I add them to your template I lose some of the image around the edges. What I want to do is insert the image so that they are just slightly larger that the (cut out) centre of the frame. This way I will not lose any of the picture. Can you tell me what size I should crop the image (in Photoshop) to please? Ron West
  6. Larry, There are some tutorials on my web site, one of them deals with making a 'One Page Menu' and there are also some other freebies. Ron
  7. Hi Lin, Impressive plasma screen - get yourself a real one and see it sing! Ron
  8. The Frame looks great, but I must point out that the credit must go to Barry Beckham for making it, not me. Ron
  9. this is what you need I think: 1. Click on .My Controls' at the top of screen 2. Select 'Edit Signature' from the window on the left 3. Enter your web Site URL (or copy & paste it) into the window shown see the screenshots attached below.
  10. Dom, Your latest album with just one page effect is brilliant and just what I was after. Can you tell me what I should re-size the pictures to before I copy them into the template. I would like to use my own frame for each picture so that it will look like a real album page as used here in the UK. I will send to you via 'yousendit', a pte slide show - please look at the first 3 pages to see what I mean. Ron West
  11. Thanks for the swift reply! As simple as that eh! I was thinking it would be much more complicated. Ron
  12. I though that I was reasonably good at using PTE but I am stumped with this one. When starting to burn a DVD with Video Builder and want to include a slide show made with version 4.48 I see a screen (see attachment below) that tells me to re-save in version 5. Just how do I achieve this please? Ron
  13. I don't think that the template will include the .exe file, you will have to copy and paste this into the folder yourself. Ron
  14. Hi Dom I agree that you have answered a lot of questions in one or more postings. It would be nice to bring them all together in one tutorial, a visual display is possibly the best form of presentation. Yes I agree, a visual tutorial will be much better and easier to understand Regarding Ronnie's question, I think that I agree with his comment about one picture per page, that is how Wedding Photo Albums are presented here in the UK. I think that 30 pictures is more than enough, if not, I assume that people can add additional pictures? 30 pictures will be fine but I also think that tere should be an option for the user to add more pages if he/she requires them Ron
  15. Hi Ralvis, My guess is that you are using a NTSC television. The results are a little different on a PAL and the 1080 res works fine for me. Ron
  16. Thankyou Dom, for the answers here. Can you say when you will be releasing the next version please? Ron
  17. Hello there! I am in the UK and som am using the PAL system on my television. I had alsmost given up with making DVD's because I just could not get a satisfactory quality - nothing that remotely compared to an EXE file on my computer monitor. I spent a good few hours with Nero and almost got there, but not quite. Recently I purchased a Plasma 40 inch television and decided that I should have another go at burning DVD's. I started to use Video Builder (that is built into version 5 of PTE) I was amazed at the quality of my shows - it was excellent. The problem I experienced was that all of my slide shows were in 4:3 format and therefore did not show well on a 'wide screen' television. I sought some advice from Hawk, on the forum and he advised a few things that put me on the right track. I am now producing really good DVD's that I am very happy with. Heres a test that I carried out with Hawk: 1. Crop all images to 1024 x 576 and create a PTE slide project with these images. Now use Video Builder to burn the DVD first making sure that you change the screen option to 16:9 in both PTE and Video Builder. It is also wise to check that you have turned on the 'TV Safe Zone' option in both. 2. Repeat the above but this time crop your images to 1920 x 1080. I found that both shows played perfectly on the television withthe image completely filling the wide screen. I also could not detect any real difference in the quality of the 2 show swhen played on the television. The quality was excellent, but whether thia was because of the digital television or not, I really don't know. Try the above test for yourself, I am sure that you will be pleasantly surprised. Ron
  18. I think that this Photo Album is one of the best I have seen so far. However there are a couple of questions that I would like to ask:- 1. How do I change the text on the front of the album cover? At the moment it is just a picture and I don't want this. 2. How can I remove the picture from the background so it is just a plain texture. 3. I still think that the pictures in the album are to small and need to be bigger so that they cover the whole page (there is too much white border showing) 4. I have already said that it would be better to have just one big picture on just 1 page, rather than two pictures on two separate pages. Can you not make another album that does this? Ron
  19. Fred, Your advice was sound, I have now burned DVD's that successfully return to the menu after each show. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Ron
  20. Hi Fred, Thankyou for such a swift reply. No I had not noticed the 'Return to menu after each title' option. I will immediately go and check this and see if it solves my problem. Ron
  21. I know that the DVD burning option has been available for sometime now, but I only started to use it today! It is brilliant and produces first class results. The quality on my plasma screen is fantastic. However, I have noticed a problem - I burned 4 separate PTE slide shows on to a DVD and created a menu with these 4 shows. The menu appears on the screen perfectly and I am able to select any of the 4 shows to play but when I select either 1, 2 or 3 the DVD will play through all subsequent slide shows in sequence. I thought that it should return to the DVD menu after each show finishes and then wait for me to select the next show of my choice. Am I doing something wrong? Ron
  22. Hello Barbara, Don't get to bogged down with all the technical stuff at the moment, just change your WAV music files to mp3 music files and take it from there. mp3 files are very much smaller than WAV and will work so much better in a PTE slide show. Ron
  23. You might want to take a look at some new Photoshop Action sets that have been created by Panos. Visit his site for the details Here Ron West
  24. For heavens sake, what is going on now? I remember saying, before even beta 1 was released, that I was a little concerned that the 'bells and whistles' of version 5 would detract from the quality of PTE slide shows - with hindsight, I was right to be concerned because good old version 4.48 has taken a back seat (only for a while though I think). I have enjoyed playing with version 5 but can only really see a couple of its functions being used in our slide shows this time next year. The novelty will wear off and we will return to producing the high quality shows that we all remember. Pans and zooms will be widely used but I doubt that all the fancy (and excellent) demos that we are currently seeing will take hold, mainly because they are just to difficult to achieve by the 'ordinary' user. Poor old Patrick is taking some stick over his original remarks but I can see the point he is trying to make and agree with a lot of what he said. LEAVE HIM ALONE and lets all get back to producing good quality slide shows! Ron West
