As the version 2 wasn't so smooth than version 1, I search to optimize the size of the objects for a 1280 x 960 screen definition and have now near 10 Mo less in the memory of the graphic card making the slideshow smoother than the version 2. Here is the link for Fantaisies florales version 3 If it's not smooth on your PC, please tell me which view has the problem.

May be other people as you have this idea, it will explain a part of these downloads, but I am not sure that all those who download AVI file have this idea.

Sorry, I have forget to read correctly what you write. To start you just have to click on "Exécuter" wich mean Run, wait a little and click on the british flag. You must wait a little between 2 views.

I have put on Beechbrook 3 slideshows made with V5 and announced as V5 (as somebody asked on this forum) and there AVI files in order that those who have problems to see V5 files can see them. The AVI file's downloaded today are more than half of the exe, I could think that about 35% of those who see slideshows thinks they will have problem with a V5 slideshow. I only hope I am wrong. What do you think about this subject ?

Thanks Dom, I'll repair as soon as possible Have you find the PTE file ?

About position the object with precision : There is a new version here which is easier method, because using "Transparent for selection" which didn't exist when I did the first tutorial

I would prefer you put the link on Version 2 which is on my page or on Diapositif forum. I have made some modifications because I didn't like the end and there were minors errors. As for the first version, I used only JPG fles to do it (There is one BMP, but it is not use for the views of the slideshow). PS for Dom the PTE file of the V2 is inside the exe

I have made some tries, and the ressult isn't so nice that we can imagine. The first problem is that generally the pictures aren't a square, so the cube must be a rectangle, it's possible to do but not necessary. In fact the best result I had is to zoom the full picture from 100% to the same size as the cube, to rotate the cube and to zoom the new picture from the cube to full sreen. That mean that you distort the picture ratio 4/3 to ratio 1, but it's not a big problem. To get the file wich must be in the cube, the easiest way is to put the good value of zoom of you picture in order it become a square of 400x400 px and make a screen copy that you use in the cube. Note, it's nicer to don't put the cube in the center of the screen.

Both : good french... and sorry, bad english

Just one problem when using screen definition above 1024 x 768 : the button change of place, I made a tutorial about this problem it's on Beechbrook at this adress

Bonjour Robert, I am happy that you used the cube template, but I see I have to work on it, because it freeze my PC at the first try after 2 minutes and the second time, I succeed to see it, but at the end, I had all the PZR effects not at all smooth, that probably means there are too much calculations for my PC. I don't really understand, because I used 3 cubes at the same time without any problem. May be the size of the cube, I have to look were is the problem. I am working on a polyhedron of 12 faces which turns without problem at the same time as a cube on the same PC. Difficult to understand. What is very interesting is the possibilites to use templates from a library that you demonstrate (thanks to Hawk for his Copy and paste method). So probably I'll complete the library with others effects. As Dom, I think the cube is too much used in this show, but it's always the same question : how to use new effects, and the answer isn't so easy as we can think.

Thanks Robert. I try to answer to Fish about stars and triangles. If you put a picture as child of a rectangle, then rotate the picture of 45° and at last zoom the rectangle, you will have a lozange. With 3 lozanges you can have a triangle, with 5 or 6 a star. The only problem is that you must modify your pictures in order they are correct after have been transform in lozange.

For menu, it's not necessary to call it at the end of each slideshow, you just have to don't stop it when you launch a slideshow. When the slideshow is finih, then the menu appears. It's what I did in Corsica and it's very simple to do (don't forget to use Granot's utilitiy "hidetaskbar" write by Marcovelo).

Sorry Fish, I don't understand your post and it's impossible to translate it. My english is enough poor.

If the slideshow permit to bring a smile on Mrs Ken Cox's face and also make that Lumenlux's family study the math, it's a succes, of course, impossible to do without Igor's work.

Jeff, it's very difficult to explain correctly in english, and I hope you will understand my bad english. As you can see in the exemple, there is always a parent objet in all the slides. This object is a rectangle with opacity=0% and with the size equal to the screen definition I choice. This screen definition can be different of the screen definition of you PC, that's no problem. For instance I often use 1280 x 960 and my PC is generally on 1152x864. This parent object is fit to screen, so all the child object with original option will be resize with the ratio between the size of the parent rectangle and the real screen definition, and it will be the same ratio for all the children objects if they are with original option. So you can work with a scale of 100% between all the children objects. Imagine you are in photoshop for instance, and you have a picture of 1280x960 and you select a part of the picture in its center with a width of 199 pixels (99 on left and 100 on right), the center of the selection will be at + 0.5 pixel on the right. it the same in PTE to put the picture of the selection above the main picture you will have to put it at half a pixel on the right if the selection isn't pair and at an integer value (0) if its size is pair (100 pixels each side). It's easier to work with integer value, it's the reason for which I try to have always size with pair value. Of course PTE is also OK with value not pair and with 0.5 at the end of the Pan value, but it's not so easy. For the Corner, it's very easy, I make a rectangle to make the border with horizontal or vertical gradient and with the 2 colors I want, I put all the parameters in order this rectangle is at 100% on the screen and make a screen copy that I put in Paintshop (or Photoshop) and I keep a part of the rectangle to create the corner that I save and use for all the corner, I have just to rotate this corner file of different value (90, 180...) for each corner. It's also possible to have 2, 3 or more rectangles with appropriate size and value to make more complexe frame, but the method for the corner is always the same and very quick.

First, all objects must become absolutely grey. If you want to work with a 1280x960screen definition for instance, you will probably have 1280x960 pictures size, that's the best way. If you take a part of this picture and make a new file in order to put it above the main picture, if the size is for instance of 199 pixels, you will be obliged to put it in PTE at Pan xxx.5, if it the size is 200 pixels you will put it at xxx.0 This is usefull for instance when you want to put a title above a picture for a moment, it's not necessary to save twice all the picture, you just need to save the picture as main and the part where is the title as secondary picture and you have only to position exactly the second one above the main picture. It's what I always did with V4.xx, and it's now easier with V5.0
-
I made sometimes ago a tutorial which explain how to position exactly objects. Since this day, Igor has put a new function "transparent for the selection", and it's now easier to do than before, so I have make a new tutorial and exemple here using this function. There are the exe and the template, and are named "Puzzle version 2"

Hi, I have made many tests with V5 and some test-slideshows, now it's time to make a slideshow, not for test but for pleasure, so here is my first real slideshow with V5 : Fantaisies florales (Floral whims) I hope you will enjoy. Note : it's done only with JPG files
-
I have make a new one without this problem, it's here. Thedom, you asked me to put the last one on your page, I didn't answered because I want to make a new one before. It's done, so now it's OK
-
It's happens sometimes, I found a solution that sometimes works : put two littles "blank" slides of 20 ms each with fade in transition of 20 ms (no quick transition). It's often (not always) because there are too big pictures to load at the begining of the slideshow (for the two or three first slides).
-
I would like to know if exemples I send you, Ron, permit you to solve your problem.
-
I had twice this problem, but I can't have it when I want, so difficult to say anything about it. I have also a radeon, but a 7500.
-
Sorry Ron, I am sure that you're wrong, use picture large as screen/3 and pan them of the right value, it's enough, really no need of PNG files, if you had look the PTE file of Versailles, you would have see that for the same effect I use only JPG. Look also at the exemple I send you, there are 3 JPG, not PNG.
-
Thedom, I don't understand why use PNG instead of JPG when there are no transparency, it's more heavy, need more power and use 33% more of video card memory. Of course, I also agree with you.
