Don't forget to use "Hidetaskbar" from Marcovello for this method.

The batch files doesn't run on all Operating system, for instance on Win 98. The solution of Xaver is a good one, I just prefer to use PTE V4 to do that for 2 reasons, it use less calculation than V5 and it's possible to have a background on all the screen for all format of screen, what V5 can't do. I used this method in an old slideshow "Corsica" and it's perfect.

One each 5 weeks for me with V5, that's right, try to be as perfect, technically, as possible take a lot of time and made tests, tutorials and exemples also. The help to others need a lot of time. I spend more time on other's slideshows than on mine. All my slideshows aren't here, because sometimes there are french in them. Sorry, since I was born I always have been in the left/top part of the graphic I hope those who are in the other parts will excuse me.

More than 2 keyframes : sections should not be glued
JPD replied to thedom's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
I need to be able to have the value for each keypoint for an effect when we put smooth or other on it on all the duration of the effect. I use that when I want to have an effect which continue on several slides. When I have to do that, I create a new slide with a duration equal to the x slides on which will be the effect, then I create the effect (pan for instance, then I put smooth or other, and after I create keypoints at a place similar to the beginning and end of each effects betweeen 2 slides, I have just to copie the values that PTE give me in the different slides which have part of the pan and put the correct function (but never smooth) on the different section of the slides. So, it's the reason for which I want PTE doesn't change anything in order the values I have to day stay good in the future. If with "Custom" we can do as now, no problem for me. -
More than 2 keyframes : sections should not be glued

What parameters would be put as default value for a section? I am not sure that we spend less time if for instance it was smooth for all section for instance. I really find it's better as it is. For linear, there are no problem to have all the sections linear, not for smooth or other. My problem today with this function is that when you have for instance a pan + zoom and you put smooth, the movment isn't correct, and it's a real problem. -
All seems correct now for the preview on all my most difficult slideshows, just a very little thing, but for me it's now good. You did a very good job, thanks to you and your team.
-
Thanks Ken for you did about Ron, I can't say anything, too difficult to translate in those situation.

Yes it's a new engine, but I think you can do with it all what you did with the old one, the only big difference is now you have to choice a format for the screen, and a difference in non-synchronized mode but the result isn't different. You must have no problem to use it.
-
In Project Options, Screen and desable Hardware Acceleration (D3D). It's not the 4.4 engine but a new engine which, as 4.48 engine, doesn't use the graphic card. The result isn't exactly the same as in 4.48, but not too much different.
-
It's exactly the same it would be with V5.1, it's the same engine for the exe.

Yes, that's right, the precision of this tool is so good that we can imagine a lot of things. We are just limited by the memory (not of the computer but of Windows).

Nice demonstration, and also nice photos. Well done. Run fine on my PC.

I had often the same problem with rotate and also with pan and especially zoom, but always with templates very difficult, the effect continue. I had this even on beta of V5. So I don't think your eyes are bad, it's a real thing which happens sometimes, not your brain neither (I film my screen a long time ago to be sure). In my slideshow "Fantaisies florales" it's seem to be the same with a triangle rotating, but it's an optical effect there. For your exemple, it's also an optical effect.
-
Thanks Lin for the link, I did a better one there, with 6 sides, but I think that what want to do Mike is very difficult and am not sure that my templates will help him. It's not a cube you need but a part (1/3) of cube, it's possible to do but it's the same work than doing a new cube.

It's done Igor, If you need more tell me.

There is a problem with some tools to open the zip file. I succeed to open it with Winzip. I have made quickly some tests, the new preview is interesting (there are some problems with objects, but it's a beta) and the time-line in the main windows a good idea. Would it be possible, with a button to change the time-line in order to have the duration of the current slide full screen in the time-line and then by clicking a second time have the normal time line ? Good job, thanks to all the team.

What did you do, after having see your new version, now I have water on my desk
-
I have see the new version, the work is nice. This idea of an oob (out of bounds) image was used in V4 by Oleg Lobatchef with a cat and myself in Corsica with a church. With V5, there is a similar idea in Dis la nostalgie with the yellow flower, I didn't need grids, I used the method I explained here. However, it's interesting to show what we can do with PTE especially when the work is nice and make progress everybody.

Bonjour Lin, I have see your work seven times, twice yesterday, five time this morning, this work is very nice and as always the photos are great but I haven't see anything new, may be you can explain me where and what, I probably missed something, I am sorry. I'll look at it in order to find, I search on the sheeps and the coyotte. I haven't understand, I need more time to see what you did with the coyotte. As Xaver, you use zoom with Pan, but you use it is both direction, width and height and you didn't distort the photo before use it. It's a strange effect we can use.
-
Very interesting effects, those of Lin and Xaver. I notice that Xaver's demo is a really original idea that nobody used before (I think). To be more perfect, the picture and the frame must be parallel, I have change a little bit Pan and Zoom in order to be parallel and the result is amazing. Of course, the photo must have the same perspective than this used in the slideshow. Bravo Xaver

I am not sure to well understand, my english isn't very good, but I think that you must be sure that all your pictures are in original mode and in pixels position, so that you will have the same thing on all screens. (With a black part around for hight definition screen) You will need a mask for zoom, pan and so on. Another method is the one used by BBdigital : a windowed mode.

It was I waited as answer, I think it's a very important point. Many thanks.
-
What will include this new version ? Will it be inside or with new features ?
-
Sorry, I don't really understand your question, english is difficult for me, so I can't answer ( I haven't also understand all what Lin wrote)

There is a big difference between the 2 products, PTE don't modify your pictures files (only gif and PNG and sometimes bmp with V5 in another loseless format) neither your sound file, Proshow modify both. I haven't test their last version, but I made tests 2 years ago (at the begeinning of PTE V5) and I saw that all the files were modified in format such as jpg and ogg, so you loose some informations, they use several qualities for the sound, all are in ogg, the best is about 160 Ko/s (before it was with mp3). All the files for pictures (that's also right for BMP) are compressed in jpg, may be you can choice between several quality, but there will always lost of informations, even png is compress in jpg and the alpha layer is transform in PNG black and white. They also make transformations on pictures and cut the sound in many parts inside the exe file, so when reading there are too many calculations to do to recreate pictures and sound correctly. I often saw Proshow slideshow with ogg under 100 Kbps for the sound and quality under 80 (with jpegoptimizer) for pictures (small). With PTE you choice the exact quality you need, it's not the product which decide, some of you use Quality 98 with Photoshop and WAV or small compression with ogg (hight bitrate as 320 kbps or more). If you need Hight quality you need PTE, if you don't need, you can choice what you want.
