  1. This does not make sense, and it is not a question of a particular workflow. Videos, images, texts, etc. are visual objects, while slides are something completely different. Slides are logical objects, they are containers for all the visual objects. And such a container may include hundreds of visual objects. Perhaps you are asking for an additional button "Apply the default slide duration to all existing slides that do not contain any video"?
  2. It really would be fine to have this feature. Let's hope to see it in V10
  3. Will the low-compression codecs become an official feature of PTE 9 ? Will there be UltraHD video output based on H.265 ?
  4. Do you really think that this wasn't clear to me? You may regard it as a political statement. Some time ago, if some people from the RPS AV-Group and I hadn't objected, the standard duration would have been totally replaced by the full duration with all its negative effects, including KFSD.
  5. Where do you want to place it.Why not the standard duration, a parameter of greater importance?
  6. It is logical that in case of "Show Global Times" we do not see the full duration (a parameter of minor importance ). It is not an anomaly. What we see is quite normal
  7. There is nothing to correct here !!! A slide is a container for a set of visual objects, and it does not make sense to change the duration of a slide if one of its objects (maybe a video) will be replaced. An automatic change of duration is to be regarded as harmful, as it would destroy the synchronization of all slides that follow the one with the changed object. Regards, jt49
  8. I don't think that it would make sense to link images to sound clips. You do it the other way round: You link clips to slides. You can easily link several clips to the same slide if the clips are on different tracks. Presently, you cannot link two or more clips from the same track to the same slide when working in the timeline. This restriction is nonsense, as you may want to link several short sounds to the same slide, and why not having them on the same track? But you can do it via the project options. In this case, an error is indicated (slide numbers in red), but nevertheless, it works
  9. In V9, when highlighting an image in the file list, I can see the full path name in the status bar, while highlighting a slide, I only see the file name. I would prefer to see the full path name in both cases (as it is done in V8). Regards, jt
  10. There isn't any confusion for me. I once proposed the feature for the export of the soundtrack (for testing it in an audio editor regarding clipping ...). If you really use PTE for extracting the audio part from a video, you typically do it in a separate project, and it is a conversion at the same time (say from AAC to MP3 or WAV). IMO this is a kind of workaround. For this action (and for a pure extraction) I would prefer a tool like XMedia Recode. All in all, this is not a big affair. On the other hand (repeating what I said twice above) it would be fine if PTE would accept more audio formats like AAC and FLAC. (BTW: I have ripped all my 1000+x CDs to FLAC).
  11. There is another aspect: Some people regard it as a matter of course that the typical PTE user speaks English . As far as I know, the majority of PTE users speaks French. And even for the small German group of PTE users that I care for, I can say: They neither use the English online documentation. Thus, in cases of PTE's shortcomings it may not be a good argument to refer to the online help. BTW I do not look at it either
  12. PTE does not extract the audio part of a video, it just uses it. You may apply a tool like XMedia Recode to extract a video's audio part. But as I said above: Extraction can be useless, as videos include audio parts (e.g. AAC) that PTE does not accept. So if you extract the audio part of a video, you also have to convert it to a format that PTE likes (MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV). Isn't that confusing?
  13. There is no doubt that the audio part of PTE should be revised, sooner or later. Examples: (1) I regard it as a disadvantage that we cannot add FLAC audio to a PTE project. (2) PTE can play AAC audio, as AAC is the standard audio coding for MP4-videos. But you cannot add AAC audio directly into PTE. You have to put it into an MP4-container and make it an MP4-video with an empty video part.
  14. Two remarks: I have a notebook (bought in 2014) running the latest Windows 10, and it allows me to choose the graphic system (Intel or Nvidia) when running an exe-presentation. From my experience with shows prepared with a well-known AV-tool from Austria, I know that at least since Windows 7 the DirectX coming with the operating system does not include all legacy components. The easiest way to solve problems of missing DLLs is to download "dxwebsetup.exe" from Microsoft and runt it once. It will add to the system all legacy components.
  15. The O&A button typically is grey when you have selected more that one slide in the slide list or in the timeline.
  16. You can highlight groups of slides in the slide list, open the slide options, and give them all a common time.
  17. Ein Blick ins englische Forum zeigt, dass inzwischen der Beta-Test der Version 9 in vollem Gange ist. Es sollte daher keine Ewigkeit mehr dauern, bis PicturesToExe 9 verfügbar sein wird
  18. What is the reason for this question?
  19. Many thanks to both of you! Regards, jt49
  20. When using the Run command in Window, I can do the following: I can start MPC-HC using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" I can start MPC-HC and run a video using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" "D:\videos\MyVideo.mp4" I can start MPC-HC and run a video at full screen using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" "D:\videos\MyVideo.mp4" "/fullscreen" When using the command "Run external application" in the Slide Options of PTE, the third command including a command line switch (to run the video at full screen) does not work for me. Does anybody know how to pass command line switches when using "Run external application"? Regards jt49
  21. You could have looked at my image above
  22. Copy fonts to some folder on your HD (not to Windows\Fonts), highlight them and click right. You will see the option to install them. jt49
  23. As long as slides contain only a small number of images, large images do not cause trouble. But if there are (say) 20 to 30 10-mp-images inside a single slide, there will be problems when opening the corresponding O&A window. Regards, jt
  24. I would guess that you are using images of (unnecessary) large pixel dimensions. You may try to resize your images. Regards, jt
  25. What is the color profile of your monitor? Regards, jt
