  1. I have been working on a slide show all week-end with no issues on MBP-M1 with PTE latest edition, (at least checking for update said so). I rebooted so I would have a clean machine for my talk tomorrow at 10 AM EDT. But, PTE locked up with a spinning progress icon showing the PTE folder menu. Numerous restarts and shutdowns didn't help. I can present the talk using the player, but I can't use the PTE app. I logged into a "test" account and PTE did not lock up, but indicated I needed to activate it, which I could not easily do because I can not display the Help screen. I also downloaded an eval copy of PTE and loaded it as a separate app. Both apps locked up. What should I do to resolve the issue. Doug Bolt
  2. I created a relatively simple show rendered it to a MP4 played it. I want to make some additions to it. I cannot find it to change it Do I start over? I forgot to do a zip file. I have tried *.pte nothing, . I didn't think I could make a show and not have a remnant show. I do have a shortcut link but that only plays the movie Lowell
  3. Hi Folks, Just to let Mac owners know that Crossover V17.1 will install PTE. Running Win 10 in a Wine bottle (I have no idea what this means - but it works) results in PTE working much better and faster than using VMware Fusion and Win 10 on a virtual machine. I have an old iMac, 2011, with 12GB RAM. Using Crossover and PTE, I have 4GB RAM free to play with. Uisng VMwareFusion, Win 10 and PTE, I have jsut 512MB to play with.
  4. The latest feature update to Windows 10 just auto installed on the club laptop and was a lengthy process. After installation no PTE exe files would run; all crashed showing a Access Violation Exception whether they were exe files I had produced or those that had been produced by other AV Group members. PTE opened and seemed to run but as I need the laptop for a group showcase rehearsal tonight I did not have time to investigate further and so I returned the laptop to the previous version of Windows and all is now well. Other problems are reported with this update including web browsers ceasing to work etc. On my own desktop I have temporarily turned off auto update until the situation is clearer. 5. I have set up PTE9 to run on my MAC through Bootcamp . I am using VMware Fusion. Whilst I can operate the software (windows, Fusion and PTE) I do not feel that it is very efficient and some advice on best practice to integrate this with the Mac workspace would be appreciated. I run Lightroom, Photoshop and Audio Software on the MAC but then I need to make them available to assemble AVs in PTE. I have the Windows orientated software on a separate external drive and this is dedicated to running PTE. I would like to set up a shared workspace in the MAC finder which links to PTE in Windows. Some guidance would be appreciated.
  6. A lovely evening at Salford Quays in Greater Manchester, watching the sun go down over the Ship Canal. The sun sets behind the swing bridge that connects Media City with Trafford Wharf. 1,368 still images put together in PTE to make this movie. I took the images at 1 sec intervals, but they are displayed at 0.04 sec intervals, speeding things up by a factor of 25. Unfortunately my Nikon D7000 camera only allows 999 images in one time lapse session, so you may be able to spot the slight hiatus when I had to reset the camera for the next set! sg https://youtu.be/XEMGvb3QQqE
  7. For several years now, uploading to Youtube from within PTE has worked well most of the time. Now, on most recent three occasions, upload from within PTE never shows up in my Youtube account. PTE processes and gives me the check mark that all was successful. I then have to use my Youtube account to upload the mp4 file that PTE created but that never reached Youtube. Any answers/solutions or ideas what has changed?
  8. Hi Folks, I am really chuffed, my Iceland show won 1st place in the Northern Ireland Photographic Association (NIPA) Audio Visual 2015 Championship, this evening. My Iceland show then went 'head to head' with winning sequence from the recent Irish Photographic Federation AV Festival and won! A great success for PTE! The mp4 entries simply didn't do well at all, the file size (about 10X the PTE exe) may have been a problem, but IMHO the fades and transitions are simply not good enough for long slow fades or transitions, e.g. panoramas. As I have in the past received useful feedback from members of this forum, I though it only right and proper to post links the my winning show, and thank everyone that helped me make it work. You know who you are! All photos were taken with the Fuji X-T1, mainly with the 10-24 lens. 9. I got involved with a thread about video editing this week. As I've edited a couple of hundred video clips using various versions of PTE, I thought I could help. However as the thread progressed it became obvious the thread starter was using a technique I hadn't used before. IMO the method being used was over complicated & the method I use much simpler. So I have put together a 4 minute sequence on my basic editing method. The clip & still shot is from one of my Grandchildren's wedding that I attended in October. The video clip was taken with the camera resting on the dining table during the speeches, the laughing young lady in the background is Fedra another of our Grandchildren, who older members will remember from a couple of years ago when she was doing her A level Photography & a show I produced from her "Urban Abstract" shots. The show is on YouTube, which unfortunately still decimates PTE's animation. Yachtsman1

    "Kent Mixture"

As I was unable to upload this to SSC, I've uploaded it to Dropbox. It is out of sequence in the series of shows made from pictures taken on our holiday, 2 still to finalise. This one is composed of left over images we couldn't categorise. I've dedicated it to Betty one of our Stirling Court computer club members who passed away while we were on holiday. Mechanics, 15mb, 38 slides, 16-9 aspect ratio, slide size fixed, 2 music tracks. Yachtsman1. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ix4uln1vr15osdq/Kent%20Mixture.zip This is also available on Slideshow Club.
