Orkney is an archipelago off the north-east coast of Scotland. We had a fairly brief stay on Mainland, the largest island including Skara Brae, a Neolithic settlement on the west coast of Mainland, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Lofoten archipelago is located north of the Arctic Circle in Norway, and is known for its dramatic scenery and every changing light and weather.
