jfa Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Wonderful Igor, you continue to delight me with your development of PTE. The text quality improvements I am particularly glad to see. (Just one thing missing).I like the idea of a Demo.exe to wet our appetite. Thanks for your work. Looking forward to testing. Quote
Barry Beckham Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 IgorThats all looking pretty good. Barry Quote
davegee Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I copy all that has been said............but the second display EXE does nothing? If it works for anyone else, can you please describe your setup?I have tried it with second monitor in a "clone" configuration and also with the "Extend my desktop..." ticked. The second display exe seems to do nothing.DaveG Quote
uuderzo Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Great improvements, Igor! What about a "display choose dialog" at slideshow start?Greetings! Umberto Quote
Ronniebootwest Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Igor,This is looking very exciting now and the new additions to the program will make it even better. Can't wait for the beta testing to begin - make it very soon please!Ron West Quote
mhwarner Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I love the anti-aliasing on rectangles! Can't wait for the beta! Quote
thedom Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 It looks great, your demo of the new features is really exciting.I love the border and canvas size for images. The custom windows are really interseting for interactive presentations. The ability to edit masks directly in PTE will be very useful.Don't know if it's only me but when I click on "Run" in the startup menu, the application minimizes in the windows bar at the bottom. deskjet1uk Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Hi Igor, cant wait for the full version, great work as usual, thanks to all concerned.Regardsralph Quote
canteau Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Hi Igor,Very interesting these newsI hope the mipmapping will be truly effective and does not alter our pictures as in older versions ...Thank you for the good workRegardsBernard Quote
barrygordon Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I finally got some time to play with the 5.7 beta demo. First my hardware configuration for reference:Computer is an Intel 945G chipset feeding two monitors directly. Display 1 is set at 1024x768 and is a vga monitor. Display 2 is set at 1920x1080 and is a JVC RS2 digital projector being fed by a DVDO video processor (All over HDMI, PC -> Scaler ->Projector).Display 2 is positioned to the right of Display 1 top aligned, so its upper left coordinates are 1024,0 Operating system is Windows XP Pro SP2Display 1 is primary and Display 2 is secondary with the desktop extended over Display 2Display 2 is blank just showing a background color (that is the desktop background)Display 1 is showing the normal assortment of windows folders including a shortcut to the bat file to start the demo on display 2.I click on the shortcut. The bat file opens on Display 1 and the initial control screen appears on display 1, no change yet to Display 2. I click on RUN in the demo control screen on Display 1. Display 2 gets a copy of the primary monitor repeated (tiled) as if it were the desktop background with the demo control screen showing. A few seconds later the slide show actually starts and fills the screen in the middle of Display 2 at the pixel size of the slide show. the Display 2 screen still contains the incorrect background image with the slide show in the foreground and the incorrect background image appearing around the slide show. The demo slide show now runs properly (in the middle of the screen) and actually looks very good.I believe that what is happening is that somehow at startup of the PTE Demo (Clicking Run), the Display 1 image as it exists is being transfered to Display 2 and tiled to fill the screen (1024x768 vs 1920x1080). That appears to be the only thing I see wrong in my configuration. I suspect that if the slide show was actually built with a resolution of 1920x1080 it would properly fill Display 2. The issue of the tiling of Display 2 with the Display 1 image is incorrect and I do not know why it is happening (Bug?).In my work I merely treat the two monitors as a single desktop and place things I want on Display 2 at (1024,0) and things I want on Display 1 at (0,0) with Display 1 graphics constrained in a rectangle of the same resolution as Display 1 so they do not spill into display 2.Nice job though! Rickl Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Hi Igor! Most impressive! I am looking forward to the font issue. I am always worried that my carefully annotated slideshow will not display on someone else's computer because they do not have the same font sets that I have! Also I'm interested in the executable for the Mac... I take it you are looking to an executable that will run on native OSX and not a MAc running windows?I know a lot of Mac users that would be excited about that! PTE is still the finest image quality in producing slide shows!Dick Quote
Guest Yachtsman1 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Nice to see my suggestion of last year re displaying font styles has been adopted . However, will my equipment take 5.7??????Yachtsman1 Quote
Igor Posted June 14, 2009 Author Report Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks for your responses!Ken,Looks greatwill the help file reflect all these changes?Of course, but not in first beta release.I'm sorry for the issue with second display option. It seems that there is a bug with this mode when we use startup window. We'll cure this problem in first beta.Dominique,Don't know if it's only me but when I click on "Run" in the startup menu, the application minimizes in the windows bar at the bottom. Thanks, I'll check up tomorrow and probably will write you for more details.Probably this version 5.7 will include 3D transformations for objects.Slideshow engine for Mac executable file is almost ready. We're still didn't find a solution for one final problem which happens on Intel video cards (under Mac) on a slide with many objects using many Masks objects. This point delays Mac output for PicturesToExe. I hope we'll solve it soon. Also I would like to answer on a recently raised question regarding v5.7 on DiaporamaForum. We've re-worked code of audio engine and will include this change to future v5.8 the most likely together with simple management of audio tracks. At least it is in my TODO list. Quote

There will be many happy users out there on hearing this Like Umberto I hope this means adjustable audio track/s in the timeline. Quote
LumenLux Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Thank you Igor. I'm sure each added feature or change is an important one to some one. To me the internal edit of masks looks very useful and the text handling should be a great convenience. Congratulations on staying ahead of most of us as you invent faster than some of us use. Thanks again. Quote
thedom Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Probably this version 5.7 will include 3D transformations for objects.Does anybody know if PTE will be the first slideshow software to have this feature ?I think so but I'm not sure...Anyway, champagne when it's available ! Quote
xahu34 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Does anybody know if PTE will be the first slideshow software to have this feature (3D)?I think so but I'm not sure...The highly priced products of the competitors from Austria and Germany offer 3D animation.Regards,Xaver Quote
