I played with the new version of PTE (v5.7) and while playing I discovered effects I can apply to images directly within PTE with masks.

One of this effect is a kind negative effect (top right) and an other one is a kind of saturated colors effect (bottom right).

You can compare with the original picture on the left.

I used those effects in this demo.

No photoshoping at all and a very small exe file (less than 2 Mb).

Hi Dom

Great effect, I can see the making of a new Template, it would work very well.

It's easy to use as mask the photo itself and made many effects with it, it's the first use I did with mask when testing it (too lazy to do a file for mask).

Hi Dom

Can I ask how you produced the negative effect, I think that it is very good.

Hi Mike,

Here is how to make this negative effect directly in PTE in 4 steps :

1 - add a frame object.

2 - create a rectangle as a child of the frame object.

Parameters of this object :

. fill mode = Solid

. color = white

3 - add a mask object as a child of the frame object

. choose "from file" option and browse your HD to select an image

4 - add an image object as a child of the mask container : choose same image as above.

For step 2, instead of a solid white, you can choose a vertical gradient color (red to green by example) for a kind of Andy Warhol effect.

I will post examples tonight.

Thank you very much, but I cannot fully understand the process, could you post an .pte file?

Mike,

I just rewrote the instructions two posts above because I realized there was an error.

I will now make a simple pte project and upload it as soon as it is finished. :)
