birdsasart
I solved the problem below thanks to a comment in my other post. When I double let clicked on each problem image in the Lightbox view, the Customize box comes up. On the MainTab it says Display Slide for (sec.) With all the problematic slides, this was set to zero. When I switch it to 4 seconds, all of the problems above are eliminated. I never once had this problem with previous versions. So here is the question: Is there a way to customize all of the images at once as a batch so that I do not have to click on each one to check?Below is the original problem that I have solved. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. later and love, Arthur Morris/BIRDS AS ART aka: artieps: I edited this so that folks would not be wasting their time. I was able to solve my original problem (below) by starting from scratch with a new file but I am now experiencing two new problems. I create my 1400 X 1050 Slide Show JPEGs via one of two actions, one on the office computer and one on the laptop. They are essentially the same (but the fact that they may be slightly different has no impact on the problem as you will see below). I take a few images into Photoshop and run the action on them. I bring them to the folder for the program that I am creating. They all show up in the directory. I highlight them and hit "Add." That brings them to the Lightbox as it should. I can see them in the proper spot in the show on the Lightbox. On two different occasions when I hit Preview or when I saved and ran the slide shows, one of the slides did not appear in the show. All slides optimized as TIFFs, all ran through the same action, all appear in the Lightbox, and on the two different occasions, one does not show up in either the Preview or the Saved Slide Show. Again, I am baffled. And a possibly related issue; In Project Options I click on the box that says "Permit Control of Show Using Keyboard." (I always use a Logitech clicker to advance the slides.) It is my understanding that I should always be able to go back as far as I want by hitting the Left Arrow but whether I am in Preview or have saved the slide show, there comes a point where I can not longer go backwards. In various shows it always gets stuck at the same slide. I can always go forward. I gotta say that the worst thing that I ever did was download a new version of Pix to Exe a few years back. My initial version, not sure which, made the shows perfectly every time. About three versions ago I began having problems that have been quite challenging as I make a living at photography.... I am running 16-bit Vista now.
uuderzo
Maybe it's not the case but... I would try converting all pictures in JPeg format if transparency is not needed.JPegs are lighter than TIFFs and maybe in a fast switching sequence PTE has not the time to fetch the picture from file, hence the slide doesn't appear.Greetings! birdsasart
Thanks Umberto. I solved my own problem thanks to a comment in the other post. (The images are already JPEGs.) birdsasart
There is a way to reset all of the personal settings on all slides to the default project settings.Tom Thanks Tom but I am confused. Can you be more specific? (I cannot see the screen capture that you posted.)
Lin Evans
Hi Artie,Glad to see you over here! From the Main Screen (not Objects and Animations screen), as Tom says, if you click on "Slide" (at the top of the screen) then on "Reset Personal Settings of All Slides," the program will automatically remove whatever "custom" settings you may have set on individual slides and set everything back to the default of 4 seconds per slide display. You may then click on the "Project Options" button (bottom left quadrant of the screen) and on the "Main" tab you can set the display time to a different value (Time Interval for New Slides) if you wish and then click on "Set For Existing Slides" and all slides will be set to your new chosen value. Then, if you wish to have certain slides display for different times, you can navigate to the slide where you want a different setting and use the "Customize Slide" button to override the universal setting you have programmed for all slides and only the presently selected slide will have the new setting. This way you can set certain slides for custom time displays as well as custom transitions, etc.If you have problems with this just ask and I'll be glad to help you get the settings you want for any of your shows.Best regards,LinThanks Tom but I am confused. Can you be more specific? (I cannot see the screen capture that you posted.)

xahu34
... then on "Reset Personal Settings of All Slides," the program will automatically remove whatever "custom" settings you may have set on individual slides and set everything back to the default of 4 seconds per slide display ...Time is not regarded as a personal setting, it will not be set back. In order to reset the time, you have to use the global project options (Do not forget to click "Set for existing .." and "ok").Regards,Xaver
Lin Evans
Hi Xaver,I think this is a bug. I believe time "should" be regarded as a personal setting just as transitions effects and so on. I will ask Igor about this...It seems illogical to have to change the time to another value, save, then change the time back to the default of 4 seconds and save again in order to get things back to the default for time. Perhaps this is how it is intended, but seems illogical to me.Thanks,Lin
xahu34
Hello Lin,IF you look at some pte-files, you will see that the slide times do not occur anywhere. The program only saves the transition points in milliseconds as global parameters. Perhaps this may be the reason why the programmers do not like the slide times as personal settings.By the way: It is not clear to me why the customized timing settings distinguish between "By default (Show next slide after indicated time interval)" and "Show next slide after indicated time interval".Best regards,Xaver
