I downloaded PTE V6 and I cannot save the EXE file.

Saving the PTE file is fine but cannot save to EXE

Every time, new or old show, I get this error and hangs up the program.

I have tried to contact wnsoft but cannot get on their support page as it times out.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on?

Hi VicBrasil,

Error Code 110 means that you are trying to execute a command which is not possible !

You can not 'Save' your Slide-Show to Exe nor 'Save-As' to Exe thats impossible to do.

Firstly you must make an 'executable' or an EXE of your Slide-Show so it self-runs

without the assistance of the PTE Program.

1)

To do this go to 'File' in top-left of the Program Main Window.

2)

Select 'Create-Slideshow' (F9) or 'Create Slideshow As' (F8) a window will open to ask for

a Slideshow-Title ~ give it a Name and select a Folder to Save-it within, now press 'Save'.

After a few seconds you will hear a distinct loud 'Click' ~ job done !! now go to that

chosen folder and find a 'Square-Blue Icon' thats your Slideshow-Exe. Double-Clk to run it.

1) Did you have same issue with previous version of PicturesToExe 5.6?

2) Please open the next PicturesToExe's folder in Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\WnSoft PicturesToExe\6.0\All\Components\UPX

Then rename UPX folder to another name, say UPX2.

Will it solve this problem?

Thanks Conflow

I have been a user of PTE since 2001 and this is the first time I could not build the EXE - only save to PTE.

I had previously built and executed with V6 and could not figure out.

So frustrated when I was trying to redo a presentation I had done in early 2002.

See my response to Igor.

Vicbrasil,

I do apologise, I had thought you were a "new user" of PTE as you had only 5 previous Posts

and consequently may have been unfamiliar with the PTE Program ~ my mistake completely.

I now see that Igor is attending to your problem and you couldn't be in better hands.

Best of luck for a fast solution...

YES!!!

But let me tell you what else I had done.

I recently - last Thursday installed Panda Cloud Antivirus

This is what I wrote to Panda yesterday (They have not yet responded):

I am a user of a program called PicturetoExe (PTE).

This programs created presentations from pictures/graphics/etc and compiles them as EXE files.

I have used this program with Norton, Symmatec and most recently with AVG.

Last Thursday I switched to Panda Cloud Antivirus.

Today, I tried to build a presentation and then save it to the EXE file and got an error message:

System Error. Code: 110.

I thought it was PTE. I tried and tried - same error and crashing the program.

I tried it with presentations I had done early last week. Same thing - error message and crash.

I was so frustrated I walked away from my computer.

I then booted up my laptop (with AVG) and tried to save the presentation - perfect.

Then the light bulb came on and I went back to my desktop and tried to save the small presentation again but this time I briefly turned of Panda Cloud. PERFECT.

Presentation was created and I turned on Panda Cloud Antivirus back on.

I have attached a screen capture of the system error message if you would like to see it.

But I now know that it works when I renamed the folder UPX2

Why is this - I am interested just on a technical level and that I do not have to turn off my virus protection.

Is this error message actually from PTE?

The email address where I got your response is one that I wish to terminate.

How can I send a new email address to WnSoft?

THANKS!!!

Not a problem! Thanks for trying to take care of me.

I have created many presentations - specially of our trip to your beautiful country.

Check out our travel website - GARCIATRIPS - look at 2004

Yes, just a few posts as I have not had any problems and Igor takes care of me.

I also have a mentor (Lin Evans) just north of me that tells me how to do Panoramas, etc.

Well Igor,

It did solve the problem once.

When I modified the same project and then tried to create the EXE file, it came back.

Crashes the program and I have to do Control-Alt-Delete to get it to shut down.

Any new ideas?

Where do you save executable file of a slideshow - in My documents folder?

Do you work under Administrator account in Windows XP?

It's strange that with same settings PicturesToExe was able to create once EXE file and failed on second attempt. Probably firewall or antivirus disturbs to PicturesToExe.

I save the file to the same file folder as the pictures and PTE file.

It is to my H Drive - I have 4 hard drives - each a terrabite.

I am using XP PRO and it is used as Administrator.

I do believe it has something to do with Panda Cloud Antivirus as it only began after I installed it and when I briefly shut it down it saves fine.

I have contacted Panda but no reply from them.

Please try to save EXE file to another folder on another hard disk.

If it will not help, can I send you a special test version of PicturesToExe to determine reason of this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Igor,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I saved it to another HD (D) and it saved fine.

I then closed the program.

Then started it over again and saved it to J drive and saved fine.

I then re-saved to J drive and saved fine.

I then re-saved it to the D drive and fine again.

Is this what I will have to do - save the file to another HD and then copy it to the work folder?
