Old versions of PTExe

Can you tell me please if it is OK to remove older versions of PTexe? I am using the latest version 6 and looking in my Add and Remove folders in the Control Panel I find I have a considerable number of older versions. I would be pleasd if someone could advise me

Yes, you can remove the older versions without any problem.

Although it is quite safe to remove older versions I would suggest that, before doing so, you save the final versions of 4.48/9 and version 5 on to a CD disc.

You may want to go back to them later.

Hi Jean!

Older versions of PtE cannot open projects made in newer versions.

That is: a project made in ie. Ver 4.48 and opened in Ver 6,

and then saved, will be saved as Ver 6.

Then you cannot open the project in Ver 4.48.

So you have to decide in that case if you need the older version

of your project. And, if so, save it under a new/changed name.

The thing to remember, that as the program has evolved, more and more features have been added and if you want ot be able to to go back to a familiar version, how are you going to do it if you do not have that version - -the program itself is very small in relation to say Adobe.

Now if you faithfully follow all threads of the forum, you will notice that there are only a few who have totally mastered the program in its current state.
