coopernatural Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hi Rick,Images are from Northern Ireland. No hearing/dust/health and safety protection then.I thought the girls had no shoes due to poverty, but they had to workin damp conditions to keep the spinning fibres moist.Bare feet was more bearable. Thanks for the comments,Davy Quote

coopernatural Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hi Davy,Very nice presentation. I am surprised at the quality of the pictures after all those years.Thank you,ColinHi Colin,Yes quality of some of the photos is very good. Some were unusable though.Cropping for 16:9 and a fairbit of photoshop on some pics helped.I'm not to keen on removing every spec or blemish. When I look at an old photo thats what I expect to see. Thanks for the comments.Davy Quote
coopernatural Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Another good one Davy. The faces kinda reminds you of the UK workforce today!Imagine the struggle just to survive. AndrewHi Andrew,Almost Dickensian conditions. There was a Mill at the bottom of my street where my father did the maintainance. One of his tasks every year was to whitewash the glass roof to reflect away the heat from the sun.You froze in winter and baked in summer. The UK workforce today couldn't survive it.Thanks,Davy Quote

Another good one and how awful it would have been to destroy these photographs. Loved the music, too, which was just right - nice and gentle. Can I ask what it was please?BTW, hope you enjoy your 1920x1200. It really does make a difference.Maureen Quote
coopernatural Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hi Maureen,Glad you liked the AV.Have just hooked up the new monitor.Wow what a difference. The music is an edit from the track 'Ascolta'by the great Ludivico Einaudi. He produces some good stuff. You can check him out on Youtube. Thanks,Davy Quote
Almark Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Davy, remind me again of the monitor you bought. A friend needs a recommendation...Another fine production, you clearly need to get out more ;-) Quote
coopernatural Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Davy, remind me again of the monitor you bought. A friend needs a recommendation...Another fine production, you clearly need to get out more ;-)Hi Mark,The monitor is a HP LP2475w.1900x1200. An IPS type,as opposed to the more common TN panels. It's not quite an Eizo, but it's pretty decent. It's a wide gamut type,so more suited to output for print. If it is soley for web work, then an SRGB monitor would be more suitable for your friend.I do plan getting out more.Well,as soon as my shift is over at the mill. Thanks for the comments.Davy Quote

Almark Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I liked the music, the throbbing beat behind the piano was great. Quote
