Overmind Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 There are some abandoned topics, but I'm starting this one so that anyone still interested can post any suggestions, improvements and anything else related here.So far I've come up with a list with bugs that need fixing and ideas for improvement that could bring WN back.Bugs in 1.96:- deleting sub-directories with too big name size fails- deleting sub-directories with weird font charaters fails- selecting files over 4GB does not correctly display their size- copying files over 4GB does not correctly display their size- searching or reading size in too many sub-directories crashes WN- when playing mp3s and using the audio position selection sidebar blocks/crashes WN- starting an invalid .exe file in recent OSes does not display the error generated by the .exeImprovements & updates:- support files larger then 4GB- support mass file rename- support adding sets of colored files ... * - replace all characters (i.e. .x* - all extensions starting with x)... ? - one character (i.e. .qa? - replacing anything like .qa0, .qaa...qaz)... # - replace numeric character (i.e. .r## - anything from .r00 to r99 - useful for archives)- update the .mp3 player (currently eamp.dll) to support variable bit rate files and fix it's bugs- support the .png file format with the picture viewer.- improve the hex-editor to support variable size insertion- add the ASCII table (in hex and dec) to the menu- add a batch for creating thumbs from pictures- make the upper shortcuts bar support multiple raws and auto-adapt (next raw) to resolution settings- make the main .exe of WN auto-check it's CRC to prevent virus infestation (and restore itself form a copy if CRC fails)- make shortcuts and F2 menu work with relative paths- editing large files reads them completely into RAM - this should be optimizedI also have the file extension sets based on colors that I've implemented so far and I can post them to be used as a default if required. This is just a quick-list; I'll add more of the things that should be done as soon as I'll remember them,What I'd like to know from the owners is if you are willing to continue with the project and/or if there's still a source code and if it can be made public.I can help with the actual project if required.Thank you.
