dpletts Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Here is my first attempt at accompanying an ambient(ish) audio track with some visuals. The track was made first then I made some abstract visuals for it.The stand-alone WIndows exe version can be downloaded here:http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?dc4actodtj1A Windows screensaver version is alternatively available here:http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3y3zgqrgz1gThe visuals were made almost exclusively with some very nice on-line software from:http://www.escapemotions.com/index.htmlCheers,David P Quote
coopernatural Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 David,Pretty impressive for a first time soundtrack and visual.Good to see new blood here, especially doing something a bit different. An interesting effect for me was some static images seemed to be rotating slowly (after watchingsome of the rotating objects).I'm viewing on a 1920x1200 monitor and some of the pics (extreme zooms) seemed quite pixelated. Not up to the quality of the (spirograph nebulae).Extreme zooms can often look like the dodgy effects used on early Blake Seven episodes.I'm sure a few will want to tinker with the online software, but i'm interested in what you made the audio track with?Well done.Davy Quote
dpletts Posted April 18, 2010 Author Report Posted April 18, 2010 Hi Davy,Many thanks for your comments about Meander. Hopefully as time goes by I can do better. An interesting effect for me was some static images seemed to be rotating slowly (after watchingsome of the rotating objects). Yes, an interesting optical illusion. My monitor is a mere 1280x1024. Originally I was aiming for a fixed size of 1024x768, but the zooms didn't look too bad on my monitor so I took off the size restriction. Thanks for your comment - I think I will stick to a fixed format when using 'artwork', or when using small photo sizes.I use Reaper for sequencing and adding effects. The loops and samples for Meander mainly came from a commercial collection, but I often make my own loops and samples - again using Reaper and calling on many VST instruments and effects. I also use my own software (AmbiFlow) for random audio mixing, plus I have the oft-mentioned Audacity and a few other odd bits of software to make use of.Best wishes,David Quote
thedom Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I like the concept a lot, very creative! The animation could be smoother and why not with a little bit of 3D animation that would be very appropriate. But it's already an excellent start. Thank you for sharing. Quote
coopernatural Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 David,As The Dom says ,'Very Creative'and there is loads of potential as you are also doing the sound as well.Lots of people come unstuck with that.Lots more input from your end needed to produce an entire AV.Thanks for the info with regards to sound software.Wanting to have a go at my own sounds so thats why I asked.Looking forward to more from you.Davy Quote
colin hill Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 David,A magnificent production with fantastic effects. Very good timing with the music I thought.Really enjoyed it. Well done.Colin Quote
