Just for the record, I have uploaded a basic PTE tutorial, "PTE 101" to the Cottage. It is available on my web site, but there is a link to it on Beechbrook. I hope a few of you, particularly those new to PTE, will find it useful, once you get used to my scratchy voice! :)

It is a little long (around 13 Mb), but I couldn't reduce the size without seriously affecting image quality.

Please let me know if you find any serious glitches, and I will update it. I would also like to know if you find it useful.

Thanks to Igor for looking it over first, and making some valuable suggestions.

Great work, Al !

Very good demo for PicturesToExe...

That has to require much work

I had thought of making in the same way in French, but I kept the French tutorial in .chm to be able to print it.

But your work is a good idea!

It will be very useful to many people.

Thanks Al !

Here, here, - an enthusiastic congratulations and thanks to Al.

YOU, have done a great service with this one. The talk from many has become a reality from you. I have only viewed a portion so far. Already I see it has great info for beginners and experienced users alike. From what I have seen/heard so far, this appears a must for everyone.

I admire your ability to keep a project like this so organized both in content and presentation.

Thank you.

Thank-you all (Michel, Bob, and Oleg and others on the "other side of the mountain") ! Coming from AV'ers the likes of you, these are compliments, indeed! Oleg, you can see I used some of your ideas in this show! :)

You are a wonderful angel Al :D !

I had planned to do some mini PTE tutorials for beginners and now I don't need to!

I'll do a few on Photoshop for digital AV workers and sound for beginners instead - just hope I get the time to finish them ! and might even learn how to upload something!

PTE is becoming very popular here :) with lots of new photographers showing interest in creating digital AVs every week.

Did a show tonight and the audience were very keen and interested. I keep getting asked to return, so it's either they like my stuff, or it's too complicated and they want a rerun to understand my accent and how to do a sequence!

Thanks to all you hard working brilliant people who keep uploading terrific free programs for the rest of us.

A million Thanks :D

Love

Maureen :D

I have been asked whether the background music can be turned off in the "PTE 101" tutorial.

There is actually a built-in music eliminator in the show, and this is the procedure to follow to activate it:

First of all, you can elect to turn off music on slide #17 on your way through the tutorial. This will route you to slide #202 which stops the music. Then you can return to "Getting Started", or some other topic, from the "Directory" menu on that slide.

Alternatively, from anywhere later on in the show, click the "Home" button on the navigation bar, select "Skip Intro" and "References", and then advance one slide on the navigation bar. This will take you to slide #201 where you can select "Skip Intro", which will advance you to slide #202. This will stop the music, and from the "Directory" menu, you can go to the topic of your choice, or select "Home" again and start the tutorial all over, this time without the background music.

It helps if you first temporarily select "Pause" on the nav bar so you can better control what is going on. It's amazing how you can use these little features in PTE to work around problems and achieve desired effects! :)
