Background moving with images

Recommended Posts

When using a BG image and a transition other than the fade, the BG image moves [transitions] along with the image which is in the screen....

Andrew,

This is true for the effects: Swap, Flip, Curling, Slide, and Push. The others should do what you like!

Xaver

Andrew,

What exactly do you mean by a "background image"?:

- one that has been added via Project Options|Screen...Background...Tiled image

- an image that you have added and which appears as an object of that slide and on which you have then superimposed a second image

regards,

Peter

Hi Andrew,

May be the trick to use your background image as a logo (in Project Options > Advanced tab) could be an easy solution.

As you probably know, the logo doesn't move and is always displayed during the whole slideshow, even during the PTE transitions.

Of course, the background image (used as the logo) has to have transparent pixels in order for you to show the pictures through it.

The image has to have the same ratio as the ratio of your slideshow.

Here is the frame I used as the logo in order for you to see what I mean.

Here is an example of a frame used as a logo.

I only use slide transitions.

I hope it helps.

Peter its the image that has been added via PO and is indeed behind the central image. I was hoping there was a way to make it stay still during the transition and only the central image to move.

Thanks Xaver. In my project I have diasbled those now and the image stays there, but I loose those transitions. That's a pity.

Thanks Dom,

I have a variety of frames that Ive been creating as I go along. That works fine but needs a black or neutral colour BG.

It was the BG I was hoping to have stay still. I guess there is no way to do that.

However I didnt know about the logo thingy and will have a delve into that now.

Many thanks for another tip.

Andrew

Dom,

I think I have it using your logo method.Although the BG shows as black in this particular instance its really the blink of an eye, so doesnt matter.

See, I said there was nothing you guys couldnt fix.

Andrew

Edit: Dom - That worked perfectly. Better than I had hoped for. Thank you

You're welcome, I am glad I could help.

I just watched your splash slideshow.

Your splashes are very impressive and really beautiful, congratulations!

At what speed did you shoot them?

They're not my work Dom. I got them from a free wallpaper site somewhere. Extraordinary work from a very competent photographer.
