Guest Yachtsman1 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 St Swithens day and it's raining. To lighten my mood I have created a show composed of internet shots titled "The Third Man" or Der Dritte Man for Xaver. If you are around my age you will remeber the original 1949 film, or if you watch TV it's been repeated numerous times. It's the story of a drug dealer in post war Vienna, faking his death and a friends search for him. When I saw Peter Mandleson's new book was called The Third Man, my little devils became active. Surely he's seen the film, knows its implications and what us oldies will think???Technical9.25mb, 3m 19 secs run time slides fixed at 1280x1024 5-4 ratio, Mediafire download. And all WITHOUT PREJUDICE.Yachtsman1http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=499d693fa12d16d1d36022894d1a5550ff5b62c6243ba10b0ed32632c97031daa0bd5d8e08056e899e860950349e0ea4 Quote

Guest Yachtsman1 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Hi LennartThanks for the look see, & yes you are quite correct, I just checked my amazon download, see attached SS, another senior moment. Regards EricYachtsman1 Quote
colin hill Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Hi Eric,Nicely done. You cannot beat those oldies (the movies) that is.Colin Quote
rick235 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Great job, but would prefer the original music played on the zither. Quote
Guest Yachtsman1 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Hi RickThat is the original music, only change is it was digitally re-mastered. See my previous post for the record lable.Yachtsman1. Quote
Esc Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Well, Rick. I guess Eric is right. But as I remember it from the 1950-radio broadcasting it was a little slower in tempo. And you can find both versions - and lot of others - on the net.Apart from the film the story of Anton Karas is quite remarcable./Lennart Quote
Guest Yachtsman1 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Hi GuysForgot to mention the track on the show has been edited in Audacity, hence the two changes in volume,The track I downloaded was only 2m 20 seconds so I cut & pasted a passage in two separate sections to give me 3m 10s. I've seen the film a few times & I know the tempo & volume of the zither changes with the action, unfortunately my track doesn't, still what can you expect for 69p.Thanks for the interest. The current Third Man, is in hot water from his ex colleagues in the labour party, it made the 6pm BBC 6pm news.Regards EricYachtsman1.PS also Question Time at 10.30 & The Andrew Neill show which followed. Bet he's laughing all the way to the bank. Quote
