fergy
I have started to use the mask feature more and more, as it allows me to perform zooms & pans within an area less than the full screen. What I would like to be able to do is to have a border round the masked area - well actually the area not hidden by the mask. This would then look similar to an unmasked image of the same size with borders. I would also like, if possible, to be able to have a drop shadow around this.I have managed this before by having additional layers, to create the shadow, and a border, but wonder if there is any easier way. Barry Beckham
You can create a frame in your image editor and addall sort of embelishments to it. A drop shadow to create the Matt border effect and much more. If you save the resulting file as a Png file it will retain the transparent centre portion and you can drop that over your images in PTE just like a real frame. In fact there is a nice dodge as explained by Davegee where you can use the logo option and apply your frame to all images in your show in one go
davegee
Thanks Barry, but the accolade for that trick belongs to JEB.I merely expanded on it.DG

fergy
Thats exactly the effect I was looking forThanks for the advice - I suppose as with all things, when you get an enhancement in PTE, you always want something a bit moreI'll try the technique and see how I get on - it sounds like a good way to build up a library of different masks and effects.Ian
davegee
OK,The JPEG shows the O&A Objects pane for the way I did it.The Mask PNG is made in PS (not in PTE).The Stroke PNG is made INSIDE the inverted mask (again in PS).The shadow was made from from the Mask PNG and added to the Frame and sent to the back.Animating the Frame moves everything attached to it in the same direction. This way is probably not very far removed from the way that you originally did it except that a Mask has been used? Now stand by for various different (better) ways of doing it.DG
