colin hill Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 One of the most interesting places we visited in England last month, was the town of Arundel, situated in West Sussex.Arundel dates back to the 11th century and is situated on the Arun River. Arundel Castle overlooks the town and was firstconstructed in 1068. The castle was founded by Roger de Montgomery and has changed hands many times over the centuries. There have been many construction phases to the castle over the period of time and a distinction can be made between the old originalcastle and the most recent. It is the home of the Duke of Norfolk, the present being the 18th Duke of Norfolk who resides in the castle as did all the previous Duke's of Norfolk.22.15mb27 slides3 mins 15 sec1920 x 1080Please feel free to make any comment you wish.Colinhttp://www.mediafire.com/?7i2d5gbg5azl2ih Quote

d67 Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Hi ColinSame comment as George !Very nice and cool report. For some photos, you probably had to suffer of mild to strong winds .... as attested by the verticals a bit oblique. Patrick Quote
colin hill Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 George, Ken and Patrick,Thank you for your comments. It is such a pity, as we all know, photography is not allowed in places such as Arundel Castle,as the interior was very interesting with some of the rooms decorated with the original furniture of the period. The gardens of the castle are magnificent and my next AV will hopefully show this.Colin Quote
