Easthorpe
A friend called with an SD card with some 500 images from a holiday to be projected via my Windows Vista laptop. I tried to load them into PTE 6.5.2 using Cntrl + D without success. I then switched to PTE 6.0 and they loaded without hesitation. This morning I tried again using a similar no of pictures from the laptop hard drive with the same results. Deleting and reinstalling 6.5.3 improved matters but still slow compared to PTE 6.0I have repeated the experiment on a desktop running Windows 7 home, 4Gb Ram, Intel i7 chip & Nvidea Geforce 9800 GT. Images were 463 2.3 Gb in total. PTE 6.0 8secs from pressing Cntrl + D to first image preview on screen, PTE 6.5.3 just over 30 secs to reach same stage. That time difference is unimportant but I am curious as to the time difference as it could be a problem with the laptop and club shows. Please can anyone give an explanation. davegee
It sounds as though you are trying to load full resolution files at around 4Mb each which is overload! You might try bulk resizing to the resolution of your show/projector.i.e if your projector is 1024x768 and your images are 3:2 then your images need be only 1024 wide........if your projector is 1920x1080 and your images are 3:2 then your images need be only 1080 high.DG

I agree images are too large for a slide show, we were just trying to project his pictures for the first time. My query was really about the difference in handling images between PTE 6.0 and PTE 6.5.3 as PTE6.0 accepted and showed this number of large images without hesitation.Regards, Mike
