Guest Yachtsman1 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I'm still scratching around looking fior things to occupy my time. It's too cold to work on the van, weather today is c**p for photography. So to get me away from the haunted fish tank (TV). I thought I would give my Nikon D5000 with 18x200 VR lens a movie workout. I haven't used the function before, so I set the camera on the tripod in my lounge, switched on the room lights & gave it a whizz.IMHO the lighting was insufficient to give a decent picture, so there is lots of noise and the picture is too dark. The sound is acceptable. So for those planning to give PTE/Movies a try, these are the technical details of my efforts. Length of clip, 51 seconds, file size 33MB, frame size 640x424 or 3x2 according to what the camera says, data rate 11546kbps, frame rate 24fps. Audio bit rate 176kbps, mono, sample rate 11khz.Other setting on the camera quality 1280x720 320x216 plus the original. Finally the sound can be on or off, whether this would reduce the file size, I don't know.I've downloaded the clip onto my Flickr Photostream to save you having to down load 33mb from Mediafire. Comments welcomed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16218328@N04/5377951194/Yachtsman1. Quote
