I've got a slide show that I've added an mp3 to.... made sure the synchronize to music is set.... Well, when I click to show music duration, it says 16:03! The music file is only 4:07, so why is it saying 16:03? The slides are transitioning at really odd intervals - some after a long duration, others very quickly, and the music plays more than once. Aaaagh! Help! I've made another slide show and it worked perfectly so I don't know what's going on.

Ok, so I've figured out that the problem lies in the song itself. I've put other songs to it and it's fine. It's weird. In Windows Media Player, the music file shows it's 4:07, though. So WHY is it 16:03 in P2E? This is happening with a few select songs and it's making me crazy!

It's probably either something wrong with the file you are using, or in Windows media player.

PTE gives quite accurate times for mp3's, and Ogg & wave files. If you are using .wma files, you should convert them to mp3 or Ogg for use in PTE, and either listen to and time the song, or read its duration in PTE.

Please check your file with a software more reliable than Win Media Player, e.g. Winamp, or Audacity (a good free sound editor).

There is also a specific little (209 KB) free program to test mp3 files: its name is (!) Mp3test, and you can find it here or here.

Thank you everyone! I just figured out the problem. This was one of the first songs I converted to mp3 and I was messing around with different kbps and so I redid it at the 125 that I think I've got everything set at and it works now.

Thanks again!
