Lin Evans Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 The new video linking works great - just some observations to go along with the instructions.....1, First - you can have it both ways - you can have still images rotating in the background while playing the video, 2, or you can have video for a background while rotating (sequencing) images. It's extremely "easy" to do number 1. Just place your image in a normal way, add the video to the first image or where ever you want the video to begin, copy and paste it to each slide then go to the properties tabe in Objects and Animations and set the video on the first slide to "Master Video Track" and make sure that the remainder of the pasted videos are set to "link" to the master. The video will then run continuously across the slideshow as the slides change in the background. To set it so that the video runs continuously in the background while the slides change, you repeat the process as above but of course reverse the order so that the video lies on the first layer with slides reduced in size. The first occurrence of the video should be set to "Master Video Track" and subsequent videos to "Link". Now here comes the "difference:" You must set the timing for each video on the slides to correspond to the slide duration. Without doing this, the first slide will simply run the video until it ends! Have fun!!Lin Quote
trailertrash Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 I replied to your example show before I saw this. Thanks.Andrew Quote
davegee Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Thanks for the explanation Lin.I was slightly (?) confused at first so I offer the following in addition to Lin's post for anyone who didn't get the "LINK" reference."Link to DSCxxxx" will only appear in the Video Proprties when you have set the "Master Video Track" on the first slide. Before that the only options are "Master Video Track" and "Single Video Clip".DG Quote
Igor Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Lin,All linked video clips share common parameters:- Start time- Duration- OffsetSo you needn't adjust these parameters on each slide for each linked video clip object. Quote
Lin Evans Posted April 29, 2011 Author Report Posted April 29, 2011 Hi Igor,I noticed that, but does it pick up the individual display times for slides "if:" equal time is not allotted to each slide? For example, if slide one is to run for 20 seconds, slide two for 7.5 second, slide three for 11 seconds, etc.? In such a case is it still not necessary to adjust individual parameters? Thanks for the clarification,Best regards,LinLin,All linked video clips share common parameters:- Start time- Duration- OffsetSo you needn't adjust these parameters on each slide for each linked video clip object. Igor Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Lin,Sorry, I didn't understood your question.Video track starts on a slide where located master video track object.Video track can't be paused, impossible add pauses. For example, video track for Video.avi file is 60 seconds. And we put master video track object to the 1st slide. Now we can only add linked video objects to other slides and they just "reveal" video track on the screen. These linked video objects can't change any time or duration parameters of video track. We can only use opacity or time range to control visibility of video track on the screen.Linked video objects are "windows" to see picture behind..........[-------Video Track----------------].........[Master] [Linked1].........[Linked2] [slide1] [slide2] [slide3] [slide4] [slide5] Quote
Lin Evans Posted April 29, 2011 Author Report Posted April 29, 2011 Hi Igor,I'll make a little demo today and post it to clarify my question. It concerns unequal time allotted to still images with video running in background.Best regards,Lin Quote
baumettes Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Hi IgorIt would be great if in the slide 4 of your example, the sound of the video could be cut. No video, no sound! Quote
