trailertrash Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Scotlands Festival of History is celebrated annually at the town of Lanark. It plays host to many re-enactment societies, from a variety of events including the Roman's,Vikings,Tudor, Napoleonic, American Civil War, WW1 and WW2. All the ' characters ' assume the role they play for the event and will reply to your questions in the first person.Displays include the correct procedure for killing witches, [something the Scots were particullarly good at it seems] roasting techniques [thats pigs] weaponry, archery, falconryand full blown battle recreations. There are a vast array of craft stalls which sell all manner of wood carved items, clothes of the periods to full sized swords and shields!!!The actors will, when asked assume any pose to help you get the pictures you want, without payment. Just visit their particular stand and spend a moment or two discussing their uniforms and weapons. Its very interesting. There are numerous stalls selling things to eat and drink. So no need to go hungry. My personal favourite ' persona ' was General Robert E Lee.This presentation runs for 8:42 seconds and has 87 slides - 7 sound tracks.53 megBest viewed at full screen - 16:9Nothing offensive.http://www.trailertrashaudiovisual.com/Slideshows/Heritage.exeMac Version: http://www.mediafire.com/?vl827k5zs557h5zBeechbrook Link: http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=1978Thanks Bill for hosting.Andrew Quote

However I thought that the Scots were a tough breed so whats with the leather lined stocks. Ahhh just thought,, maybe they were designer stocks. Ha Ha.RegardsPaul Quote
