Upgrade to 7.0 Query

I have been using v 6.7 Pro for some time and, as it is now available, have downloaded and installed v7.0. I followed the dialogue boxes and when prompted transferred the settings from the older version and the new version seems to work well.It opens and runs projects created in 6.5 without hitch so far.

My queries are:-

I now have two versions of the program on my PC (as version 7.0 did not overwrite the older version). Is this normal? Can I or should I uninstall the earlier version and if so how?

No need to uninstall v6. Both versions will happily coexist. The only thing to be aware of is that the file associations will work only with one version - usually the last one to be installed. If you feel you need to uninstall either version, you should find the PTE Uninstall program via Start...All Programs...Pictures-to-Exe vn.n or you can use the Windows Control Panel...Programs and Features to do the Uninstall.

Peter

You may have old projects, and it may make sense to edit them with the old version of PTE. Recommendation: If you open an old project with the new version of PTE, then save the project using a new name. If you overwrite the old project file with the new program version, you will run into trouble it you then want to open this project with the old program version.

Seahog,

Following on from previous Posts and in particular Xavers advice (Post#3 above) may I also suggest

that you click on the (Old) Program Folder and make a Copy-Zip File of it complete with your Pte

Product-Key within that Folder.

Put the Zip-File somewhere safe "Off-PC2" perhaps on a CD or Memory-Pen for future retrieval in the

event that you may might a PC-Failure or have a change of PC. The effort is well worth it....
