Using Version 7.03 I am making a menu page and adding an 'Exit' button to the menu.

In the Common Tab, I select the On Mouse Click option and choose 'Exit'

When I preview the menu and click on the Exit text button, the screen flashes quickly and produces an exeption. see attached.

Can anyone explain why please.

My tests with v7.03 and XP-SP3 does not exhibit this issue.

If you use the EXIT action with other Objects ... does the same issue persist ?

*Test with other OS if you have multiple PCs onhand.

Now that's weird!

I tried it when I read Ron's post and it happened just as he described. (Vista).

I've tried it again on 3 different OS and it will not happen.

IMHO a simple solution would be to create a black slide exe & link it to the exit button

Peter,

Just seen your post and will try to re-produce as you suggest. Going out now so it will have to be in the morning.

Interesting to note that others are also having this problem!

Ron,

Can you reproduce it consistently i.e. starting from scratch, can you build another menu and get the same problem?

Peter

Hello Peter,

I re-created a quick menu page and, instead of using a text box for the 'Exit', I used a button. It worked OK with no exception report.

I then tried it again, using a text box and had the same problem as before.

I conclude that the 'Exit' must be a button and not text.

Ron,

I've just tried using a Text object to do the "Exit" processing. I set up two objects: one a child of the main image, the other an independent text object. Both worked fine when I Previewed the sequence. It must be something about your settings. I suggest you "Backup to zip" and post a link to the zip so that we can download it and take a look at your settings to see how they differ from ours.

regards,

Peter
