Rutger
Is there any possibility to link to a picture in a map on the desktop or dropbox in a PTE.exe file?If i create an exe file from a PTE file, the exe file contains all the pictures and path linking is gone.I like to have the possibility to change pictures on the fly.Anyone knows how to do this. Igor, will it be an option in the near future? Thanks.
Lin Evans
Hi Rutger,I'm not certain if I understand exactly what you are trying to accomplish. An exe file is essentially a "program" telling the computer what it is that you want it to do. It can only be "interactive" to the degree that you specify before compiling and creating the exe file exactly what you want the program to do when you perform a certain action such as click on a specific spot on a map.You can easily create hidden "hot spots" using the opacity features of PTE so that when the user moves the mouse cursor to and clicks on a particular "area" of the visible screen, an "action" of some type happens. This "action" could be to display a specific image, to go to a website link, write an email, run another program and after that program has finished running "return" to the PTE program, etc.If you could be very specific about what you want PTE to do, we might be able to help you accomplish your goal. "IF" what you want is to click on a map in a certain area and have a particular picture appear - yes that is easily accomplished as long as the "map" is part of your PTE executable file. You may wish to view my tutorial # 31 here:http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7901-pte-made-easy-tutorials-continuously-updated/Best regards,LinIs there any possibility to link to a picture in a map on the desktop or dropbox in a PTE.exe file?If i create an exe file from a PTE file, the exe file contains all the pictures and path linking is gone.I like to have the possibility to change pictures on the fly.Anyone knows how to do this. Rutger
Thanks Lin for your reply. What i need is an option to change pictures on the fly in a slideshow exe file. When importing pictures in a PTE slideshow there is a link to every picture. It stays a link until i make a standalone exe file. The picture files wil then be part of the exe file. But i want an exe file with keeping the links to pictures intact. So this gives me the possibility to change pictures (using the same filenames) while the slideshow is running. Why i want this? Because i like to get realtime twitterfeeds in the slideshows. Because Dynamic text change in PTE is impossible i can make screenshots every hour from the tweets on a website and import that picture in PTE for instance under the name tweet.jpg. Every hour this file is overwritten with a renewed screenshot of the tweets. If i could only make this work in an PTE generated exe file.
