JRR Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Bill Hines just kindly put up my Estonia AV. This is one of the 10 AVs that followed from the Baltic Introduction presentation that Beechbrook commenced hosting several weeks ago. If the subject sounds familiar, Maureen Platt uploaded an excellent AV on Tallinn several months ago. (And is still on Beechbrook for you to enjoy)Comments on my show are always welcome. Preferably constructive ones :) Quote

It is always interesting to see a different perspective of a place one has visited and I found it very enjoyable re-visiting, through your presentation, sights I photographed some 3 or 4 years ago, and more besides. You seem to have been a bit more fortunate with the weather and there appeared to be a lot more going on. The little craft stalls close to the docks were closed when we were there. Very interesting and good narrative, Jim, and I now look forward to seeing the rest of your trip. I must confess that, apart from Copenhagen and Tallinn, and purely because of the poor weather we experienced, I have never been motivated to even process many of my pictures. Maybe I will get around to it sometime. Maureen Quote

I find it very interesting how I can go with a group to one spot, we all take pictures and then when we look at them as a group, we sometimes wonder if we were at the same place. Quote

David Porter Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Hi Jim,An excellent trip around Tallinn that gave a great flavour of this lovely town. Nice photography in what looked not great weather and a nice mix of shots. I did find the voiceover a little staccato however. The script, I think, could be a bit more conversational. It seems to have been written as though you were adding captions to the slides telling us what in many cases we could see anyway. What about adding a bit more on the history of the place and let our eyes see what is there. I hope this may be of help and look forward to your next port of call. Quote

I usually try to get away from that and let the images speak for themselves, but I agree I failed this time. I suspect that was partially due to so much work being on on the 11 shows, that one gets sloppy at times. (That'll be my story and I'll stick to it  )I appreciate the feedbackJim Quote
cottage Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Jim,Great work from Gwen and yourself once again. It was fun 'walking' through your images and recalling so many of the scenes and buildings. You'll remember that Karen and I made the same journey a few years ago. But I believe you got the better shots. Thanks for letting us all in on a great holiday.Bill Quote
