Tomsphotos
I have 5 exe presentations I want to burn to cd. How do I modify the "autorun" feature to make all five automatically run when put into the computer ?? Thanks in advance!!Tomsphotos
boxig
TomsphotosOne way is to make a one slide show with links to all other shows. Another way isto use one free utility from "Free Autorun Programs for CD Distribution" sectionon My WebpageGranot
alrobin
Tomsphotos,Welcome to the Forum!Another way is to have autorun start the first show, and then for each show, set "run external application" and enter the file name of the next show to have each show start the next one when it is finished. Tomsphotos
Thank you for that link, Granot! My preference at this time is to get it figured out using the existing program so I will try to use a link within the program as you suggested. As the five .exe's are already separate, it would involve a bit more than just adding them into one show. I tried to add those files into one presentation and of course it didn't work :-) I will see what I can do. Thanks for your quick response!!Tomsphotos
Tomsphotos
Thank you for the welcome Al :-)Could you elaborate more on the "run external application" comment? Is this a feature of P2exe that I haven't found yet? I like your suggestion about the individual shows running consecutively and that would work for me. Thanks in advance!Tomsphotos
ronwil
Al is referring to Project Options>Advanced>Advanced Options>Run application after last slide. He will no doubt elaborate when Ottawa wakes up six or seven hours from now Ron [uK]
isabel95
Tomsphotos,Welcome to the Forum!Another way is to have autorun start the first show, and then for each show, set "run external application" and enter the file name of the next show to have each show start the next one when it is finished. I just put together a test program and entered the path of another PTE show on my computer in the "run another application" area (box checked). It does not run and the test program slides have all been shown. I checked the path to make sure that it was correct and it is. Is there something else I have to do to make another show run?Isabel
alrobin
He will no doubt elaborate when Ottawa wakes up six or seven hours from now Hi, Ron,Seven?? Actually, I'm an additional 3 hours behind you right now as I'm visiting my son in Seattle, WA for a couple weeks. Sure a lot warmer here than back home!Tomsphotos:Ron is right - I don't have PTE here on this pc so I couldn't check for the exact path for the "run application" feature. Just do as Ron says for each slide show (except the last one), making each one start up the next in the sequence.Isabel:Maybe you have to make sure you are not repeating the show at the end. If I had my laptop handy, I would check it out for you.
Hawk
TomsphotosHopefully you have all your .PTE working files. There are two location which I believe do the same function.(1) Open your first show you wish to start with, click Project Options - Advanced you will see a section " Run application after last slide " enter the name of your second show. ( second show.exe ) - no path required ( Save As ) ( Create Slideshow As )(2) Also can be accomplished by clicking on last slide as Al mentioned, - Customize and checking " Run external application ". ( second show.exe )Open your second show .PTE file and repeat the above naming your ( third show ) - etc. same for all added shows.**The last show as Al also mentions - just check Project Options - Main - " Close show after last slide.Create your autorun file to start show one. - the other shows will all run in sequence.Write all your .EXE shows along with autorun.inf file to CD.Al - can correct me from his present location if I am wrong, - enjoy Al, more snow on the way this evening

I see! Had to click on the last slide and enter the run external application in the box beneath the slide list on the right. Worked! Thanks.Isabel
Tomsphotos
Excellent, excellent replies to my ineptitude all! :-)I'm not sure I kept the .pte files, Ralph. I have a bad habit of getting rid of (what seems to me to be) duplicate files. If I have to start all over again (and that seems to be the case here) I'll just do that. No sense making the process more difficult for my potential clients ;-)Thank you very much for the help and I'll see if I can make this presentable :-D Thank you again - all of you for your contributions :-)Tomsphotos
Hawk
TomsphotosIf no .PTE files saved." ALL IS NOT LOST " - follow Boxig ( Granots suggestion ) at least for these shows you have all ready created for your client. You can create a 1 image slide show, or check out his link to utility program.Menu Show - a 1 image show, using Object Editor - buttons, pictures, create a link to all of your 5 shows.(Save As) (Create Slideshow As) menu.exeNow create a autorun.inf file to start your menu.exeWrite all your 5 .EXE shows to CD along with menu.exe and your autorun.inf file. Tomsphotos
Hmmmm..... I'm using version 3.75 and do not see the "Run application after last slide" function anywhere. Am I missing that or is it not available for this version? Thanks again :-)Tomsphotos
ronwil
The final version of 3.75 was released on July 2 2002. A lot of water and versions and betas have passed under the bridge since then. I am sure that the feature "Run application after last slide" was added within the last twelve months. The latest version I am working on is 4.20 Beta#5. Why don't you download the latest version? It doesn't cost anything. You will be shattered by the changes which have taken place and are continually evolving thanks to Igor and his team. Good luck! You have a lot of catching up to do. I find it best to keep abreast of things if possible, otherwise some of the threads on this forum will be meaninglessRon [uK]

LOL. I will upgrade my version and hopefully things will move along nicely :-) I've already redone three of the five presentations and saved as .pte's so I'll be wrapping this up soon I hope! Thanks to all!!Tomsphotos
