Guest Yachtsman1 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 I use Elements 10 when preparing a screen shot, recently it has started to retain the copied image I have closed, so that when I copy a new image & try to paste it the previous image comes up. I've tried using the three settings to clear the clipboard as well as the usual one, close, but unless I shut down E10 & re-start it the image is being retained. :huh:/>/> Any clues please.Yachtsman1. Guest Yachtsman1 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 After having another go at this, I seem to have found a solution. Despite having used the "close" function for at least 5 years to clear the clipboard & only occasionally, been unable to clear the clipboard, I now have to use the "clear clipboard" function, why :unsure:/>/> :unsure:/>/> Yachtsman1. davegee Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Instead of using "CLOSE" add a new Blank Layer (before pressing Print Screen) and paste to that. You build up a stack of images but it does not use a lot of memory or anything like that.Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't.DGP.S. Alternatively: http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptclpvue.aspKaren's Tools are reliable (IMHO) I use Replicator quite a lot. Quote
Guest Yachtsman1 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Thanks DG, tried that with 3 separate images & it worked. However, when I use the clear clipboard function the thumbnails of the 3 images still show in the project bin. Seems odd :unsure:/> Yachtsman1. Quote

Guest Yachtsman1 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Hi KenNo I haven't checked any of the adobe forums, I've asked on the elements group on flickr but haven't been back to look yet. At present I'm using DG's suggestion for the work I'm doing at the moment, but I'll give it a try when I've more time. Thanks for the link, didn't know there was a forum.Regards EricYachtsman1. Quote
