I have bought a Touchpad 9 9" Android Tablet and was hoping to put some of my sequences on it to show to friends who do not have a computer. The tablet refuses to play them, probably because they are obviously exe files. Can anyone offer a solution as to how I can display them please?

Tablets are essentially "dumb" terminals in that they have no ability to issue or decode pc computer instructions such as found in executable code. To play shows on tablets, slideshows must be in a format amenable to the particular tablet being used. Most tablets can play video so try saving your show as an mp4 h.264 in HD at 720p ;and it probably will work fine.

Lin

The Touchpad 9 is 800x480 res so you will need to choose a resolution which will not overburden the processor . However it claims to be able to play 1080p (downsized).

If none of the "Video for Mobile Devices" options works then try a HD 1280x720 Video at Medium/High Quality.

The iPad (4) Retina will play an MPEG4, H.264 at 1920x1080 with no problems.

PTE v7.5 provides an option under the Publish command to publish to three different resolutions of Tablet. It also provides options for a variety of iDevices. I have used the iPhone4 option to publish a video file of one of my sequences and then successfully downloaded that to my Samsung smartphone and run it there.

A little trial and error with a test sequence should allow you to find which option and settings works for you.

Hope this helps you.

Oh dear - my question appears to have resulted in a thread of strong discussion!

I am VERY pleased to report that I followed Lin and DaveGee, the first two replies - and bingo! - it works fine.

I converted my sequences as 'Video for iPad and iPhone' at High quality, and the results are excellent. Many thanks.
