Hi Guys, trouble again! :(/>

I created a Show page with a programme of sequences for a club night.

Created on my desktop, plays perfect.

Transferred to my laptop via portable HDD.

When I open a sequence from the page there is a crackle on the soundtrack.

If I open the sequence from the transfered folder, No crackle.

Anyone else experianced this.

You are only single clicking to launch off the Show page element, aren't you? If you double click, that can launch two copies; one of which runs slightly late compared to the other. In that situation, all sorts of weird problems with sound and vision can occur. Of course, to launch from the folder you must double-click.

regards,

Peter

Hello Peter,

Yes I am aware about the double/single click but that runs a second sound track and hitting escape clears the extra one if that happens.

This was a crackle like a bad ariel connection on the car.

It now appears to have disappeared and I was left wondering was it a laptop clitch but a music file was fine as was the sequence from folder and the crackle was still there when I returned to the show page to open.

Please do an experiment:

1. Copy to your portable HDD a new EXE file with a show and connect it to another laptop.

2. Try to run this EXE file from Windows Explorer directly from portable drive. How it will work?

3. Close the show, and run again from portable HDD drive. Compare results.

4. Then copy the EXE file to laptop and run again from laptop.

Please try with another EXE file to compare results.

In all cases please use Windows Explorer to launch EXE slideshow.

Hi Igor,

I carried out as you asked above.

All worked fine with no distortion.

I must assume my origial problem was a glitch in the laptop sound card.

Laptops are notorius for their sound jacks & noise, better to use a USB connection which I believe bypasses the sound card.
