To test it fully you will need to provide two additional sequences in the same folder in which you put TestMenu2.exe. They need to be named Rubik.exe and Tocketss.exe (yes, that is one t followed by two esses: a typo on my part when I assembled the project!)

i downloaded to my xp system and there was a slight flash before the mgm lion

rechecked the win 7 systems and it is there also

Thanks for trying. The flashback happens when I click one of the exe links on the main menu page. See screen shot, clicking any one of those named boxes produces the flash back on my laptop. My LT builder has a forum, while I wait for their support to come back to me, which could be up to 3 days, i'll see if anyone knows how to make my NVIDIA graphics card run continuously.

Did you make it public?

Yes, I put it in my Public folder and then copied the Public Link. I am also getting this error when I try to navigate using that link. When I ask Dropbox now to copy the Public Link, it creates exactly the same string. Looks like a problem at the Dropbox end. I don't believe I have reached my storage limit but if this is how they handle storage exceeded I don't think much of their service in that respect. I'll clean out some of the dead wood and upload the file a second time under a new name.

I've just updated my Dropbox software from 0.7.110 to 1.6.16 and produced new links and used these to replace the ones in posts #27 and #38. Both the new links work OK for me now. Please have another go at either or both of them.

P.S. The problem was that the old links were generated as https://... whereas the new ones are just http://... In mitigation of Dropbox, my software version of it was over two years old!

Did as suggested with your menu, added two of my exe's & got the attached error message, which I assume is because I'm using 7.07 & you are using 7.5?? The other screen shot shows the components in the folder. Off to bed now, tomorrow is another day.

Just downloaded your latest zip, extracted all & it just contains 2 exe's Tockets & Rubiks, when I try to open them I get a black screen with the title, that just hangs, how did you set it to advance? R/H arrow button does nothing?

They are just dummy sequences that should run off the thumbnails of the previoulsy posted TestMenu sequences. These latest two are both single slide, loop until Esc. All they are there for is to allow you to launch a sequence from the menu. They are not intended to be fully functional sequences in their own right. They should enable you to see whether or not there is any "flashback" using my menu and these two dummy sequences. I do not see any flashback with either your menu or this test menu. You see it with your menu. Do you also see it with my menu?

Thanks Peter, I will introduce them to the original folder & see what happens. For the others watching this thread, I posted the query on my LT builders forum, however I haven't had a reply yet. When I posted it I got a pop up saying the query would be vetted by the moderators before going live, Brrrrrrrrrrr. I know when I used to use their forum before buying my LT, it was a pretty fearsome place, it's like a nursery on here compared to what that was, maybe they had to take drastic steps for business reasons???

I have done as you asked & introduced the black title slides to the folder & run a test. One thing that immediately sprang to mind was the slides couldn't simulate my exe's as there is not a natural ending and return to menu page, because the slides are are set as a continual loop, only pressing the esc key brings back the menu page ready for clicking on the next exe. I don't expect you to go to the trouble of producing another menu with the slides set to end after say 5 seconds, because I believe it could be the switching of my video cards causing the desktop flashback which will be resolved after i have spoken to PC Specialists support. However if you wish to carry on & make another version I have no objection & would be pleased to illiminate at least one of the possible causes, but, if you do could you introduce a 3D transition such as "Swap or Flip" to one of the images.

As the "clowns" have crept in yet again on this thread, I took a screen capture of the test & placed it on YouTube with a Gangnam Style tag, hopefully it may go Global. For the clowns, Off to Dunhelms for some new crockery as our current plates ar a tad too large for the new dishwasher, which will help my dieting also. :P/>/>/>/> BTW the picture quality of the screen capture bears no relationship to what I see on my monitor, both Camtasia & Youtube have downgraded it.

I do not understand the relevance of this request. Your original problem was, as I understood, desktop "flashbacks" between your menu and the triggered sequences. You said you were using "Run Slideshow..." rather than "Run Application...". If that is so, all PTE sequences are being played by the same single instance of the PTE player. Technically, there should be no opportunity for any "flashbacks" to happen if yout hardware is properly configured.

You've since made it clear that your laptop, where the problem appears, has two graphics cards and that you have been advised that the nVidia needs "authorising" to each executable that wants to use it. This has put you in the position that I described in one of my earlier posts (the same situation that Wilmslow Guild found themselves in). I would suggest that any further investigation into the PTE aspects of the problem is pointless until you have got the hardware sorted out.

For what it is worth,with computers I always assume that if something does not work then it will be my fault and not the computer and not the software. Starting from that point will usually sort it out. BTW, I enjoy clowns!
