wilburke Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 I'm working with PTE v7.5.4 on Windows 7.When I add a video-clip and try to add a border to this video object (via O&A), I get an invalid floating point operation.I can add the files if needed but it's easy to reproduce with any video file. davegee Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 You are right - it is easy to reproduce. As well as producing the Error message it turns the Video from Colour to B+W?DG Quote
Lin Evans Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Works fine in XP - must be OS specific...Lin Quote
davegee Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I tried it on a Vista laptop.More testing required.DG Quote
PGA Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 It is not as simple as being OS dependent. I cannot recreate it on Windows 7. Is it, perhaps, video file type specific?PGA Quote
Artem Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 wilburke, DaveI cannot reproduce this problem.Could you provide more information? Screenshots of an exception and source files of a project would be helpful.Artem Quote
davegee Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Artem,I can only reproduce this on my VISTA Laptop - W7 is OK. It does not depend on specific Video Files.DG Quote
Artem Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Dave,Thanks for the screenshot. Still, I can't recreate this problem. Can you send me source files of this project? Upload the zip archive on mediafire or send me on email. You said the problem happens on your laptop only. Can you tell me your laptop's system configuration (videocard, screen resolution, processor, RAM, etc)? Artem Quote
davegee Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Artem,I can start a new project in 7.5.4 and add ANY Video and it happens. Point me to any video and I will try it?The Laptop is Vista 32 Bit.Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz4Gb Memory1280x800 ScreenNVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU 256Mb RamDG Quote
Artem Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Dave,You mean, you have tried hundreds of videos with different codecs, sizes, aspects, FPS, file types, and all have the same problem? All right then.Maybe, the problem is dependent on specific project option, or border parameter, or something else in your project source file.It would be easier for me to recreate the problem if I have your project, on which, as I already know, the problem is recreatable. Then I can do all the testing - try different combinations of options and parameters, and determine which of them is causing the trouble. So, could you please send me source files of your project?Artem Quote
davegee Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 OK - I'm convinced - please stand by.DG Quote
wilburke Posted February 6, 2013 Author Report Posted February 6, 2013 I sent a mail to you with the zip.I tried it on another PC (Windows 7 professional) and there everything works fine.wilburke, DaveI cannot reproduce this problem.Could you provide more information? Screenshots of an exception and source files of a project would be helpful.Artem Quote
Igor Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 We're trying to reproduce this problem on our PCs now. Can we send you a test version with log file which may help us to find a reason of the problem? Quote
Igor Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Dave, wilburke,Please try a test version:https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/pte/pte_755log.zipDownload and unpack this ZIP archive into a new folder and run PicturesToExe.exe file from /Main folder. When you reproduce the problem with float point operation, please close the program and send me PicturesToExe.log file from /Main folder. wilburke Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Hi Igor,Thanks for looking to my problem. I did some tests with your fix.My orignal problem (for my project) is solved in this version!Unfortunately I did a second test which still has the same 'invalid floating point operation'.What I did:- create a new project.- make one slide by clicking on the example video from Windows 7 (wildlife).- go to O&A and add a border.- save the project- click on the 'play' button- multiple windows popping up with the 'invalid floating point operation' message.I hope this helps to reproduce the problem at your site.I looked for a logfile but couldn't find any in the main folder.greetings Dave, wilburke,Please try a test version:https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/pte/pte_755log.zipDownload and unpack this ZIP archive into a new folder and run PicturesToExe.exe file from /Main folder. When you reproduce the problem with float point operation, please close the program and send me PicturesToExe.log file from /Main folder. davegee Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Wil,The version that Igor posted above is just for TEST purposes. Follow his instructions and send him the text file in the Main folder after closing the programme following the error.I have already done this but another test may show extra info.DG Quote
Igor Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Dave, wilburke,Please try new test version:https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/pte/picturestoexe-setup-2013-02-13.exeDoes it solve this problem? Quote
davegee Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Hi IGOR,SORRY - that is exactly the same as 7.5.4.DG Quote
Igor Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Dave,Thanks for your patience! We're trying to find the solution. Please can you perform one more check:1. Add this video clip, add a border in O&A.2. You see the error message. OK.3. Close the O&A editor and SAVE the project. Close PicturesToExe.4. Restart PicturesToExe.5. Open saved project and open O&A editor. Do you see any error message?7. Try to resize video clip in the editor (zoom value). Do you see any problem here? Quote
davegee Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Hi Igor,I have tried this before - and I have just tried it again. When I open the Saved Project the Program Freezes - NOT RESPONDING.I now have to delete the saved file in Explorer and/or Re-Install 7.5.x because it is now impossible to start PTE!!DG Quote
Igor Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Dave,Do I understand rightly that it happens even if you don't open O&A, just start PTE with loaded project? Quote
davegee Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 No Igor,Once the error occurs and I escape without saving it is OK.If I save before quitting then I am "stuffed";)/> - I have to delete the project in Explorer before I can open PTE again - the error is being saved with the project - does that make any sense?DG Quote
