Fading my background music

I have not seen where I can fade out my background music after the last slide shows. If anyone can help this new user I would appreciate it very much.

As to your question, the answer is very simple: you cannot fade out the music using PTE. You must do it with a sound editor, like the simple (and very easy to use) Acoustica Mp3 Audio Mixer, shareware $24.95, or the advanced (and free) Audacity.

Thank you all for the quick reponse. I downloaded audacity and I'm looking for the fade. Actually I found the fade but it is not highlighted so I have to figure that one out.

Marion, have you downloaded the Audacity Manual? It's very well done.

Michel means you must select the last 10 seconds of your music, and apply the fade-out to this selection. But you can obviously select any duration you want.

You mean you have to read the manuel? JUST KIDDING. I did figure that fade part out now I'm downloading the Lame encoder so I can save in mp3 format. I guess this is all I have to do to save. I'm putting together a slide show with background music and hope this works.
