I spent all weekend playing with PTE cubes to understand its possibilities and found that they are much more than I imagined

(Thanks to Lin Evans for advise on my problems with keyframes)

Hi Manuel,

Looks great! These concepts are lots of fun to work and play with. There are myriad constructs which can be created as you have discovered. You might want to experiment with the 3D pan z applied to text on the cube to give it that 3d depth. Also, have a look at this little tutorial for a way to add possible additional dimensions such as for the roof, etc. Scroll down to #35

Amazing stuff, Manuel. Did you say you did this over the weekend? Apart from my brain going into meltdown I would still be working on it next year.

Brilliant. Wonderful to have a creative mind! Shows to good effect what can be achieved by PTE these days.

Many hours went into this - can't believe it was done in a weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Manuel,

Your mind is working just fine! PTE and sudoku seem to be great therapy. I too am 70 years old - it's a good age to be I think!

Your English is much better than my Spanish! Keep up the good work and we will look forward to more fun slideshows from you!

Best regards,

Interesting use of the technology.

I liked the Opacity effects.

I also noticed that you are using the "Rose Cross" method to make the initial cube.

I thought I was the only one doing that B)/>:)/>.

Good work,

Manuel,

Very impressive! You have inspired me to get off my seat and do much more experimenting then I have been with PTE.

May I ask what the "Rose Cross" method is? I was not aware that there were several methods for designing the cube. Not only that but how could you tell from watching the execute file that a different method was used. Just asking out of my natural curiosity, if it is a trade secret I would understand.

Hi Steven,

I was inspired by Dan Brown's description of the "Rose Cross" in "The Da Vinci Code" and posted this back in 2009:

Hi Steven,

So much for Media Fire.

I will try to find it on my computer and PM you.

I think that with "Rose Cross" you means, to put all the images one on top of the othes (my house has 19) and then arrange one by one in the correct order, pan, zoom, 3D rotations, opacity, etc. I did that.

That was a lot of work but the end result was sure worth it.

Thanks for sharing.
