Jean-Cyprien Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Sometimes when we work with several PTE objects - at roughly the same time - using keypoints (PRZ or opacity), we would like to be able to work only on some specific objects, and ignore the other, by not seeing them.Similarly, to compare two (or more) different ways of animation, we use several copies of the same object, with different solutions (PRZ, opacity, position of the keypoints...). But only one object must be visible.Currently it is possible - but not always - to use the box "Show front side" of the "3D parameters" window. But this window is visible only for one object at the same time.Would it be possible to have a box before the name of each object, which would allow us to hide or see this object, in the same way as it is possible to do it with the layers in Photoshop ?To hide or see every object would be very fast, and we could permanently know which are the visible (or not) objects. Thanks in advance Quote
PGA Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 Hi Jean-Cyprien,I think this is an excellent suggestion. Might I suggest an amendment: clicking the hide/unhide icon for a "parent" object should cascade the hide/unhide to all its children. regards,Peter Quote
Jean-Cyprien Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 Hi Peter,Thank you Peter ! Of course your amendment would be a very useful one. I agree.Best regardsJean-Cyprien Quote
Aginum Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Very good idea ! Igor ? is that possible ? Quote
Igor Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Jean-Cyprien,Thanks, we plan to write a new O&A editor in version 8.5. Not sure that it's possible now.Should it work in O&A editor or in real presentation (EXE/video)?Should we include hidden image/video file to EXE file? Quote
PGA Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Hi Igor,Personally, I was expecting that the objects would be hidden only in the slide as displayed in the O&A window. I suspect that both Jean-Cyprien and Jean-Charles were thinking along similar lines. Hiding the objects in the O&A display simplifies what we are looking at when trying to program complex animations. I can foresee a method of working where I build the first group of objects and get their animation programmed correctly, and then hide most or all of that group and set about programming the next group, and so on. The Hide/Unhide status would be ignored by the mini-player in the Slides and Timeline views and would also be ignored by the Preview command.regards,Peter Quote
Jean-Cyprien Posted May 2, 2013 Author Report Posted May 2, 2013 You are right, Peter, it was our first thought. ( I'm used to clean the files of the O&A window at the end of my work.)However the suggestion of Igor is an interesting one, if you are in a hurry. So, first, it should work in the O&A editor (always). With Peter' suggestion about the parent/children behaviour. 2 - If possible, it should work in the real presentation too (preview and EXE).In that case, it'll never be possible to use the hiden image (or video) files of the EXE file, so those files are not to be included in the EXE file. JudyKay Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 I think it should work in both O&A editor AND real presentation. jk Quote
