... but how can i id the change for reference

If you keep different versions of PTE in separate folders, with a complete set of support files in each folder as I have previously suggested, then it is not too difficult to have two or three different shortcut icons, each pointing to a PTE file using different pte.ini scripts.

This method would be especially useful for those concerned with the different timing characteristics of the dissolves when re-loading older PTE shows for modifications, until such time as Igor builds the different options into PTE itself.

 I still don't get this first slide deal. When I use it with a push slide as my entry slide my screen of the program show first as it is pushed up. Now if I go the regular way you just get the push only. So I know I must be doing something wrong because so many are excited about it. If anyone wants to comment please do so.

I really like the slide effect and the push effects.

I don't understand it either. Without this facility my sequences start on clicking the respective icons on my desktop and return at the end to where I have programmed. However I like the additional fade facilities.

I love the effect of the first transition appearing from the desktop. I wonder whether it is possible to follow on from this by getting the last transition to disappear back to the desktop at the end of the show.

Yes, I'll add this option in the next version!

Thanks Igor for including the transition out to desktop on the next version.

If some users haven't tried it yet I suggest that they follow Igor's suggestion:

Add several pictures, turn on "Show first transition effect from desktop" option (Screen tab), then select "Circle" (from center) effect only for the first slide with 7000 ms. duration and 400 points of thickness of the smoothing line. Now run produced .exe file!

I love the effect.

Harry, this feature is like so many things in PTE - The more you experiment, the more you start to see the potential. This ". . . first transition from desktop" has quite different effect with various transitions. I think the best way to appreciate is to make a few very simple shows using various size slides and various transitions. Create the shows and put them on your desktop. Then in each show's project file, check the box to start "..first transition from desktop." Create the shows with a slightly different name this time so you know which is which. Then put these 2nd versions on the desktop and run each one versus the original similar show. You will see in some cases the difference is "no big deal". In other cases, very interesting visuals occur.

Thanks LumenLux for bringing me back to have another look at the "first slide" feature and with experimentation I can now see that it is a feature that I will be able to consider in preparing my sequences and in particular on my Intros to a programme of sequences.
