Hi Hubert

Chiver? do you mean shimmering or moire as it is sometimes known?

Hi Hubert,

Which version of PTE are you using? How big are your image files (in terms of Kilobytes or Megabytes)?, What graphics card does your computer have? The answers to those questions are likely to have some bearing on your problem and any possible advice to reduce it.

Peter

Indeed I meant shimmering !!

I'm using PTE 7.5.1

Graphics card = NVIDA GeForce 8500 GT (Integrated RAMDIAC) 512.0 MB

I already largely solved my problem.

Pic's are 1920x1200 72dpi

For a panorama I used the original image size (3008x2000) from which I made a selection 3008x1200.

But I forgot to reduce the resolution from 240dpi to 72dpi.

Did no extra sharpening .

In Objects and Animation - Properties, I did put the value for Sharper/Smoother to 0.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The dpi value is by no means important here. It is just a kind of meta-data that is sometimes used by printers. Monitors and and projectors do not care for dpi (see here)

That's a good choice, the correct way to reduce shimmering!

By today's standards, that is a very low performance card indeed! You may not be able to totally eliminate the shimmering. If it is still a problem, running the Pan or Zoom slightly slower might help.

Even the BBC can't eliminate moire, especially on't bricks & watter. :P :P :P
