smithrg
Hi PTE Friends, I very seldom, publish a PTE show, but have experienced something I never had happen before.I am using PTE Deluxe ver 8.1, and cannot publish a MP4 video, also, wouldn’t upload to YouTube.I was however, able to publish and burn a DVD, for viewing on a TV. The show is 8m 20s in length, with 101, 300kb to 500kb slides, no animation, just a simple show. The video encoding gets to 75%, everytime, and just quits, with error message, show below. I might add, I tried, using PTE ver 7.5.10, and had the same outcome, with the exception, the audio, of the showwas encoded, and would open with Media Player Classic, and VLC, but would not encode anything with 8.1. I thought that I might have a codec problem, so I downloaded, and installed K-Lite encoding pack, withthe same results. If anyone has a clue what is going on, I would really appreciate the help, my computer specs, are listed below.Thank you, robertg
davegee
Robert,Are you using the PTE preset / default MP4 settings??HD 1920x1080 Medium Quality Pan and Scan Enabled.Split the show in two parts - try part one and then part two.DG
Ronniebootwest
Before assuming that your system is at fault, try uninstalling PTE completely and then re-install PTE 8.1 and see what happens then.Ron
smithrg
Thanks Dave and Ron, I'm going now and try both of your suggestions. Thanks again, I'll let you know, robertg.
smithrg
Hi Dave,I tried the default MP4 settings,1920X1080, Medium Quality (instead of high quality), and Pan and Scan Enabled. These settings had the same results, 75%, and quit encoding, I then split the show in two parts, as you suggested. This method worked without a hitch. I have this question, don't you think that PTE should be able to handle encoding 200 to 300 MB's with no problem? We have all these styles and tricks yet the program can't encode a simple little show with none of these tricks enabled. Dave, thank you for the help, robertg.PS I know that surely most of you on the forum, make MP4's do any of you have this sort of problem, maybe we need to step back, and think, do we need all these fancy elements, to make PTE do everything except fly, or do we want to have a program that willfinish a show using our choice of all the things listed underneath the publish catagory. How many cubes do we really need?Robert,Are you using the PTE preset / default MP4 settings??HD 1920x1080 Medium Quality Pan and Scan Enabled.Split the show in two parts - try part one and then part two.DG
Guest Yachtsman1
Hi RobertGoing back to PTE5? I made shows with exe's over 300MB & DVD's from the same shows, & from 7? also MP4's, I don't think it's PTE, it's something in the way you have things set up. When I produce an MP4 I use medium quality & 30p, see screen shot.Regards EricYachtsman1.
Guest Yachtsman1
Me again RobertI haven't got a show of the size you mention made in 8.1, but as an experiment I just published my last show as an AVI/MPEG4. The results are in the screen shots. Just remembered, I do have a 200+MB show in 8.1, I'll look it out & re-test.Regards EricYachtsman1
Guest Yachtsman1
Hi me again, I found the show, I made it last year, tribute to Peter O'Toole who died last year. The exe is over 400 MB too big to upload to any of the hosting sites, just created an AVI, took around 30 minutes & is 900 plus MB, no problems creating at the settings in my previous screen shots.Regards EricYachtsman1. Barry Beckham
RobertI experienced that once and it was caused by old temp files left behind. Have a look at the address below and clear out any PTE stuff you findC:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Local\Temp\

Guest Yachtsman1
Hi Robert, one last try, I'm no techie but your PC spec looks to be well capable of doing what you want so going back to a problem I discovered a couple of years ago on my new LTop, where it had 2 graphics cards, a standard & a high spec'. Initially unbeknowns to me the shows were being made & run using the low spec card, I had to tell the PC to use the correct card. :unsure:/> :unsure:/> :unsure:/> Regards EricYachtsman1.
