In PTE8 I have a jpeg image - “room.jpeg”. In “objects and animation” I bring in a png file -”mouse.png”. It is a separate file, not a child of the jpeg.

What I want to do is:

  1. Have the png file off the screen to the right

  2. Slowly move the png from the right to the middle of the jpeg picture.

  3. Have the png file stationary for two seconds in the jpeg image.

  4. Have the png slowly move off the jpeg file to the left

How do I do this?

In Objects and Animations (O&A):

1. Add the png and place it off screen in the first Keyframe (KF) on the left hand side of the O&A Timeline.

2. Right click on the said first KF and Clone it.

3 Drag along the O&A Timeline until you have the correct position - or use the KF Time to place it precisely

4. Drag the png to the position that you want it at the second (new) KF.

5. If you want it to linger at that point Clone the second KF and place it at the correct time

6. Clone the third KF and place it at the end of the O&A Timeline.

7 Drag the png to where you want it to be on the left.

8 The speed of the movement will depend on the duration of the slide and the duration between the KF.

You can add the Mouse .png in two different ways in O&A.

1. Right click in the Objects Panel on the right and "Add/Image"

OR

2. Use the Add Image Icon - top left.

The problem I had was keeping the mouse in the same position for a while after bringing it on the background image. The davegee detailed response has solved this for me. Thanks.
