slide show for hd and tv

Hi

I have a Toshiba smart TV which I can attach a portable hard drive to for playing pictures and video.

I tried converting some existing shows with p2e 7.5 (originally I created DVDs for these shows), but the tv does not recognise the file format.

I tried looking at some existing movie files to see what files will play. Files with a mpg extension play.

I am thinking of updating to version 8, will this give me more save options for this purpose.

Check the TV's handbook, the specification pages, and find out what file formats it supports. If it is a reasonably recent model it will probably support MP4. If so, Publish your sequence as a HD Video and try that on it.

Just to re-inforce what Peter said:

Publish > HD Video > HD (1920x1080) Preset > Medium or High Quality works fine on any Sony TV with a USB Socket and Media Player.
