jeanclodo Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Product version:8.0.3HelloI try to build mp4 video instead of .exe file. Every time the video creation process is working fine but at end, the video.mp4 file exists but is empty.I tried with 3 different PTE projects without succes.Originally during the process I received an error message. (x264.exe encountered a problem and must close)So I reinstalled PTE but no result and no error message anymore. Please adviceThanks in advance Quote

Igor Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Hi,Regrettably it's known problem on some PCs. We solved it in future version (8.5) which will be published this autumn.Video output in PicturesToExe 8.5 is completely reworked. There are two temporal solutions for version 8.0.x:1. Try to change encoding parameters. Choose 2-pass encoding, set manually bitrate (7000).2. Create AVI video file instead of MP4 file. Quote

jeanclodo Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Posted June 24, 2014 Hello KenThanks for your helpThe story is like this :I made exe file --> no problemI made MP4 File --> no problemI watched the exe file and find a few slide to improve (increase slide time in order to have enough time to read the comments)right after, rebuild exe file --> no problemRight after, rebuild MP4 file --> problem occursSo my PC is running under Xp with 3 Giga ram and I use to build a lot of MP4 file with this configuration.without any problemTemp memory has not been change as I know. nobody else than me is using this computer.Nevertheless I can increase the temp ram, Do you know how to do that?My hard disk free space is 7.4 GOMy hard disk D sapce where I build MP4 file in 104 GoIt seems to be OK Quote
Ken Cox Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 try thistake the pte and existing configuration and save it under a different nameopen the newly named pterun the showmake the exe - run itthen make the mp4 and see if that solves the problemken Quote
nobeefstu Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 jeanclodo,My hard disk free space is 7.4 GOMy hard disk D sapce where I build MP4 file in 104 GoIt seems to be OKYour C Drive 7.4 GB free space is very limited in my opinion to perform multiple/large video compilations. The C Drive is normally where your Windows Username Temp Directory is located and where PTE performs its build/complilation file functions ... unless you have relocated your Windows Username Temp Directory to your D Drive where you have ample space still available.* Test ... Try to increase your C Drive free space available or relocate your Windows Username Temp Directory to your D Drive. * Another option to free up additional space on your C Drive is to relocate your Virtual Memory/Page File to Drive D. jeanclodo Posted July 19, 2014 Author Report Posted July 19, 2014 Finally I reformatted my computer and re-install all softwares.it works fine now even my hard disk space is quiet low.The only thing I did not re-install is this Bitdefender anti virus suite. So My conclusion is that the anti virus is the cause of my problem.Next step will be :- create an exact copy of my drives- install this anti-virus again- Create a Mp4 video- If the problem occurs again, I will go back to Norton 360 which was working fineThanks to all of you Quote
tom95521 Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 My Windows 8.1 PC with 4770K i7 cpu and 8 GB ram has bitdefender free version and malwarebytes pro 2 installed. I do not have problems creating mp4 files. Some motherboards do not like odd number of dimms (dual channel memory) - (you mentioned 3GB ram). If problem happens again I would run memtest86 or some other ram testing software.Good luck!Tom Quote
