Ray Groome Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 I have some limited experience of editing video on Adobe Premier Elements and I was wondering if I should make more use of PTE for this work as I shall also be incorporating a lot of still images in the compilation. I have read the PTE User Notes on this topicbut I am not clear how I get the video from my Sony video camera (using mini DV tape) into a form that can be converted by PTE. Currently I capture it in Premier and it creates AVI video clips which PTE can accept. But I would prefer a simpler route, avoiding Premier if that was possible.Any suggestions, please.Ray Groome Quote
tom95521 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Hi Ray,Are you connecting your video camera to your PC using firewire (ieee1394)? I don't use firewire now but when I did I found that scenalyzer (now free) did a great job for importing video to the hard drive. I payed for it when it was a commercial program and it was very reliable and easy to use.Limited to SD video (not HD).http://www.scenalyzer.com/http://niftyvid.blogspot.com/2007/08/software-review.htmlThanks,Tom Quote
Ray Groome Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 Thanks for the suggestion. On further examination of using PTE for video work I do not think I can avoid using some video editing software before applying PTE. Quote
