Lin Evans Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Hi Vincent,That isn't a PicturesToExe issue, it's a font issue. Which font are you using?Best regards,Lin Quote
Mavi Posted October 6, 2014 Author Report Posted October 6, 2014 Perhaps !!!Problem with the font : Calibri lightI see the problem only in PTE. No problem with other sofware Word, Outlook, Proshow, LR, Premiere ElementVincent Quote
Lin Evans Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I don't have Calibri Light on my system, but this is Calibri with Atlantis Word Processor then PicturesToExe. Could you give a sample of the problem? Quote

Guest Yachtsman1 Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 With Calibri light fontwith a space before and after dashvincenttsg.jpgFrom the screen shot, the wording is not English, could that be the problem?Yachtsman1. Quote
goddi Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 no problem with calibri but problem with calibri lightwith last version of PTEOOpppsss... Didn't notice that. I don't have 'light'.Maybe go to his site and do their 'Try It'. And see if you get the same problem to whether it does it outside of PTE. Just guessing.http://www.fonts.com/font/microsoft-corporation/calibri/lightGary Quote
jt49 Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I see the same effect as Mavi does. I wrote "H - H" in LibreOffice (black letters) and PTE (white letters). Compare the results shown in the attached images.Regards,jt Quote
denisb Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 If you write H - H in a 7.5.10 project, open it with 8.0.6 and add a second line H - H:Denis Quote
davegee Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I also see the problem but it seems to be because of the Font?Type the same "H - H - H" in Arial and it is OK.Change the Font on that Text and the problem arises.OTOH if Calibri Light is used in Word Pad the same problem does not exist. One for Igor.DGP.S. The problem also seems to be with the "dash" and not with the "H".Use something else like the "=" and the problem does not exist. Quote
Igor Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Hi Vincent,I confirm this problem. We'll try to fix this problem. I'll write later after checking. Quote
Mavi Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Thanks for all, gorI am agree with Davegee, it's only with dash. The dash seems to be interpreted as a Chip.cordially,Vincent Quote
Igor Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Hi,We checked our code and we can't find a reason of this problem with a space and dash.PicturesToExe supports a text ligature (see Wikipedia )Calibri Light font includes ligatures. For example, PicturesToExe correctly draws "ff", "fi", "fl" for Calibri font:Even Microsoft Word / Wordpress don't support ligatures:PSG/PSP don't support ligatures. We work with text objects on very low level using special Windows API. Probably the problem happens in Windows. Quote
Mavi Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 thank you to be focused on the problem. But it's very strange. I haven't got the same.No problem with ligature on PSP, Pack Office software.I have problem on PTE and a another software NOTE (of Windows).Very strange.....The PC with Windows Seven Pro, SP1Vincent Quote
Igor Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Vincent,Please look at a screenshot of PSP - in word "fiole" letters "f" and "i" are NOT linked in PSP. And these letters are linked in PicturesToExe and Photoshop."fi" is a ligature in Calibri fonts. It should be rendered as one virtual symbol. PSP can't do it.We can easily fix the problem with a space and dash. When we disable support of ligatures the problem doesn't appear. It seems that a space + dash (" -") is a ligature in Calibri Light and it has wrong width. We don't know where this problem - in Calibri Light font or in Windows API. Quote
Mavi Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Yes, i agree with you.Difficult to know the origin of this problem : font or Windows or a caracteristic of language choosen on Windows....Vincent Quote
denisb Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 But in 7.5.10, there is no problem. See #12. Quote
Igor Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Denis,I see same problem in all recent versions (including 6.5) with Calibri Light. Also I tried the experiment you did in post #12. Same result. Quote
jt49 Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 This is what I see in Photoshop:Regards,jt Quote
Igor Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 jt,Thanks.Interesting, your Photoshop shows same result as PTE.Seems to be a bug of Windows. Quote
